PC Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 9 7900X
GPU: RTX 4070 Super (12 GB of VRAM)
RAM: 32 GB of DDR5 RAM
O/S: Windows 11

I was extremely excited to play Monster Hunter Wilds on launch; after putting hundreds of hours into Worlds and Rise, I've become a massive fan of the series, but unfortunately, as someone whose PC is ABOVE the recommended PC specs for this game AND scored an excellent on the benchmark for the game, I've experienced so many crashes and frame drops due to poor optimization and cannot recommend people purchase it. It's quite embarrassing that the game had to be released in this state because when the game actually runs (I say this very loosely), it's a ton of fun.

Capcom REALLY pushes you to turn on frame generation, with the constant popups prompting the player to turn it on in order to squeeze performance when on some machines (mine included) it just crashes your game. When the game optimizes shaders and settings on startup, it'll sometimes manually turn itself back on and cause the game to close. (this happened numerous times)

Even on high or ultra settings with above 60 FPS and barely using 6 or 7 GB of VRAM, the textures look really low quality or sometimes can be missing altogether (I never had this issue but have seen it firsthand on a lot of other machines). I found it quite amusing to walk through areas like the forest or desert when the weather cleared up, and the NPCs would say, "Look how beautiful it is," despite the textures looking like a PS2 game.

If your PC is below, on par, or even above the recommended/required specs for the game, I'd still advise against purchasing it; the optimization issues are way too big to ignore, and it's not worth the gamble to see if you get lucky and can run it without issue. If Capcom can fix the optimization issues, and stop giving half-assed advice on their Twitter page, Monster Hunter Wilds really does have the potential to be a very good game.

Game is extremely fun, been a fan since the first game but the system changes, new characters, the addition of rollback with many more new features has already made this game a blast, cannot wait to sink more hours in
