When it released this game was a mess... but Hello Games stuck with it and now it is very good. If you like survival and exploring with a theme of sci-fi you'll probably enjoy this game. Combat is a sore point though, I personally didn't enjoy very much as it has very little depth, just point and shot, some weapons fire a little different but that is it. Base building is again middle of the pack. Now exploration: it is very fun just going to a different planet and just stumbling upon something strange or new, both flora and fauna can vary very much from one planet to another and there is even stuff to find in open space, aliens speak to you but unless you explore a lot you'll probably not understand a lot of what they're saying and multiplayer expeditions are usually fun to do.
It is now a huge game with a lot of content and it's probably still improving. I think this is what a lot of game strive to be.

For anyone who likes fantasy combat and a good if not hard to understand story.~

I you follow games media for any time you should at least heard of this franchise and if you did its either one of two things:
These games are awesome
or These games are too hard

And as a fan of this game I can tell you that this game is good because its hard. This game makes you think about what you're doing and not rush blindly into every thing, makes observe what the enemies are doing by puting you through the situation several times until that is no longer dificult, makes you fight a boss over and over again until you learn its moves, its feints, its vunerabilities and pushes you almost to the limit of your skill but when you finaly beat a boss that has killed you too many times to be proud of, you feel good, you feel proud of yourself. You know that you fought something more powerful than you and you beat it. The satisfaction of doing that is what drives these games.

This is a game that, if you're new to the series, its gonna take loads of hours to beat especialy if you also buy the DLC's, but its also a game that you won't forget you beat because it was not beaten with ease.

If you're trying to get into this type of games and don't care about the story I would sugest trying this game first as it is probably the easiest of the Souls franchise up to now, also do some research to find out what all the stats mean.
