Bought this game to play it in cooperative with my friend. The story is laughable at best. Nothing flows or really makes sense. A lot of the level up abilities are things like 'improved parkour' which just makes the game play better and means that before you get this, the game is unnecessarily clunky. I honestly didn't enjoy the game at all.

Rust is a weird game. The learning curve is unforgiving. If you don't grind out hours on YouTube tutorials or have a friend to show you the ropes you're really going to suffer.

The skill ceiling is so high for so many different things in the game. Helicopter piloting, PvPing, farming, building and ratting are some of the few things where you can be so drastically better than someone that they may as well give up. At times it can feel like you are a Silver 1 surrounded by Global Elites where you have a <1% chance at success.

However, we play Rust for that rush when your <1% comes in. The adrenaline when you full deep a trio as solo, and successfully seal. The panic as your phone goes off at 3am and you're running to your computer on a work night to defend your base and your hours of grind. The tired, croaky voices tinged with a touch of fear and the zen-like concentration in the discord comms as you and your exhausted friends fight the raid. The shaking of your hands and the racing of your heart as you repeatedly strike your eoka in an AK kits face. It goes on and on.

The highs only feel so good because the lows happen all too often and man they feel low. Logging in on the morning to your sleeping bags being destroyed and it telling you, Killed by THECHAD#BEAMER. Knowing you will have to return to the beach and start over.

We all start naked on the beach with a rock and a torch, it's up to you where you go from there.

Early Access Review
The game starts a little clunky, it was designed primarily for tablet or mobile so PC does feel a little second best. However the content is there, lots of hours and lots of maps. The difficulty is definitely challenging and the RNG can really make the same map play differently.

Not sure it is worth it's full price but it is still a brilliant game, with a lot of potential (early access...).
