Four different difficulties to appeal to all players.

Too many situational buffs that didn't help me during a run.

The combat is unique and expanded upon well.

No good explanation on how the S-ranks work, or what you need to do to improve.

Probably one of, it not the best games ever in the "MMO-inspired" space.

The elemental overload system kills the pace during late-game fights.

Great cast of characters that fit well in the theme, with special mention going to Lea.

Highly challenging puzzles in quick succession were common.

Great balance between combat and puzzling.

Being unable to tell the height of platforms was very annoying.

Beautiful atmosphere with a nice accompanying soundtrack.

Story takes a weird disconnected turn near the end.

The game is clever with the usage of seasons in puzzles.

The pace of the gameplay loop is inconsistent.

Simple but consistent combat.

Could have used some more time in the oven to iron out some bugs and performance issues..

Animal transformations have finally reached their peak in how they are handled.

Horrible indication to see what collectables you have or miss.

The most Metroidvania-feeling games of them all, complete with interconnecting map.

The Seer's dance is something I massively dislike due to slowing down the pace and requiring a lot of magic.

Monster card system is a fun new system that helps with balancing.

While certainly an improvement, I want the world to offer a bit more oompf.

Stellar presentation with a banging sountrack and good humour in the writing.

Quantity over quality with the animal transformations.

Shantae feels very good in both combat and traversing using animal transformations.

Too much forced backtracking into levels with no maps.

The most bang for your buck with the high amount of additional modes.

Alternate modes still end up just being the exact same game multiple times over.

Risky's equipment felt more natural and fast-paced to use than the transformations did.

Separated islands is not necessarily my favoured structure for this kind of game.

A wacky story filled with personality.

Forces backtracking on your rather than encouraging it.

Combat still feels very fun, especially with the Risky weapons addition.

Port could have received a bit more love.

Combat feels good with a nice upgrade system and a bunch of magic.

The map is dreadful, with dungeons not even having one.

Transforming is pretty much instant, keeping the pace going at all times.

Most of the areas outside of dungeons aren't too interesting.

Getting around the map is easy with the warping squids, requiring no effort to activate.

Somewhat on the short side, emphasised by there only being two real dungeons.

Smooth controls with good upgrades.

Lore is too cryptic and uninteresting to engage me in the world.

Beautiful and unique art style.

Extremely clever usage of the small pool of items, with great interactivity between them.

An appealing adventure to both younger- and older gamers.

Parkouring could sometimes feel a bit sluggish with auto-attaching.

A surprisingly big sandbox to play around in, with new objectives around every corner.

Abilities locked behind story puts the player who wants to explore the world early at a disadvantage.

A lot of parkour platforming, accompanied by a variety of different abilities.

Said abilities also being relevant in story missions results in very unnecessary padding.
