Play it during the nighttime hours or in a really dark room with no light; you'll thank me later.

Played technical/closed/open betas; it's come quite a long ways since those tests.

I was expecting problems with this early access launch, but it went surprisingly smooth. I do hope folks who are waiting for the full launch have fun because there is a lot to do and see.

I did run into the 'disconnected due to Anti-cheat: 47' error once, but i suspect it might have been because i was jumping between 2 characters i was testing on separate servers, and i was attempting to delete one of the test characters without cleaning out the in-game storage items that had to be claimed first beforehand.

notes:
-We appear to have just 2 character slots per account (or region, i didn't test further) so keep that limitation in mind.

-Character deletion takes 6 hours; though i'm pretty sure as folks may be aware that once a name is created, it's gone- for how long is anyone's guess- may be forever to avoid internal information and network issues.

Edit: I would like to see the process of changing servers be a bit more user-friendly, but considering how the game is designed to nudge a player into focusing on a single character, and really discourages alt-play, this may be intentional.

Perhaps in the future alt-play will come more into focus with this game.

As much as i have a fondness and good memories attached to older X-legend titles such as Eden Eternal, i have to say that at this point; the game design and engine in use (Gamebryo) for any of these games: Astral Tale (Twin Saga) in particular- shows X-Legends unwillingness to do something different and take some risks.

Instead they appear pretty comfortable with what they've been doing since 2008; starting with Grand Fantasia, and utilizing the cute anime aesthetic that game established, and used it as a revolving door- continuously flipping their own art assets over and over and over.

I cannot recommend this game as i fear it's just going to shut down and then relaunch again under a new game title, and even if this is 'safe' from such a fate; i still cannot recommend this game- it does nothing new that a X-legends game vet hasn't seen yet; and worse, the micro-transactions are pretty disgusting.

A lot of content for a $10 dollar DLC. I'm surprised it wasn't more, i really am.

Ada is worth every penny, plus we get a bit more time with Luiz.

Just from glancing at the screenshots, i'm guessing this is where a little bit of the cut content might have ended up in; either by happenstance or design.

The greatest gift in this universe is the journey we take while navigating its space.

Honestly I don't even know where to begin, my journey has only just begun and it feels like it's going to be a long one. I might edit this once I hit a much larger milestone, see you all in 1,000 hours!

Thank Merlin's Beard, It's a Great Game!

It's flipping amazing, the world building alone is phenomenal.

The rougher spots of the game are certainly in the performance department- although this varies from pc build to pc build from what i have seen; as of typing this i'm installing the day 1 patch, but i have been playing since the 7th during early access.

Story i can't really comment on too much since i'm admittedly still quite early into the game; there is definitely this vibe of allowing you to go off the beaten path and just do what you want at your own pacing, so that's what i have done, i've spent most of my time exploring and trying to get into places i'm not allowed. (naughty Slytherin student goals)

This is without question a game designed for the fan of the Wizarding world in mind; but I feel like the average gamer who loves open world games and collection/trophy hunters will also really find some enjoyment.

I am very much looking forward to seeing what the devs have planned for this game post-launch, but for now, i still have SO frickin much to do in this game.

Early Access Review
You can get into arguments with Squirrels. GOTY 2023.

On a serious note; this game isn't finished yet and it's more fleshed out and brimming with life then most finished games.

2/24/2023 - I cannot really think of any other development team more qualified to man this impossible mission of crreating BG3, they've proven time and again with each early access patch that they are more then capable; they are a criminally underrated dev team- perhaps it's that castle they house the headquarters of the studio in, or maybe it's just the pure D&D geekdom within- whatever it is, it's actual magic.

Also, i broke my Paladin Oath so frick'n easily- these guys aren't messing around.

8/8/2023 - Full release notes

Still lightly messing around in ACT2; The storytelling is so damned good. And the insane volume of different ways of playing.... i have no idea what life is anymore.

Try it, it's actually Good.

There's still a lot I have not unlocked yet, as I'm still pretty low level, but I've unlocked enough to see that this game leans very heavily into collecting and achievement farming; which I'm addicted to, and there are a lot (A LOT) of outfits to collect for your character.

It's also a Korean mobile game, so the free stuff they give out is very generous, you won't really be pressured into buying anything like a Chinese mobile game tends to do.

And if you do want to buy something, you get what you pay for in this game; want an outfit? you just buy the outfit; no nickel-and-dime gacha with stuff like that.

The only Gacha that exists are the Summons; but even that feels generous for a gacha; a lot of a Summon creatures power is so much further into the game progression and you have to actually play the game to create a strong Summon, you can't pay for that; you have to earn it.

There is’ partial Controller support, and for me my controller was mapped pretty nicely automatically, though it did take a bit of getting used to.

The Camera controls are a bit wonky, so I have mine on “fixed” mode so I don't have to fiddle around with it.

Account binding can be a bit tricky, but for some users you may not have to even bother with it if you don’t have a Googleplay or Hive account; heck, you can just use your Facebook account, and go bare bones and use the base Steam linking when you are asked to create a account.

If you like the Summoners War IP, you’ll probably enjoy this game.
