In contrast with my other reviews I feel inclined to leave a long review for this one. As I'm writing this review I've gotten to about 50% completion on my first save, I will edit this review with my final thoughts after I've come very close to, or get to 100% completion.

This game has surpassed my expectations of both what direction the game took and how refined its gameplay would be.

I really did not expect the combat to be this enjoyable, or for me to enjoy it with a much larger portions of the game having a focus on combat. The combat while at first not feeling like much becomes infinitely more enjoyable with the more upgrades you get, the customization which have at your disposal being which specific moves you use, or the different shards you equip but it also flows and feels very well. My two favorite attacks are spirit slam and spike for the simple reason of just how they feel. The amount of weight that these two attacks carry and how it transitions into their devastating power is something ridiculously satisfying for me along with the other attacks.
TLDR: of this section: Lots more combat, but it's really good and it feels really good.

Something I doubt I need to touch onto much is how the game looks, it was obvious from the game's mere announcement that it would look as, or better than blind forest. The visuals of this game are to die for, they help create a dense atmosphere which is even further illustrated by the music, the way Ori flows and how the many characters you talk to are animated make the game's flow feel even smoother and extremely immersive.
TLDR: of this section: Graphics are amazing.

I loved the sound design of blind forest with a highlight being the music, overall the music in Will of the Wisps is great but personally is not as good as blind forest. As I said in the section before however the music still accomplishes its goal of helping to further build a very focused and immersive atmosphere in tandem with the beautiful visuals, depending on the situation the player is in.
TLDR: of this section: Music is really good, in my opinion not as good as blind forest's.

Initially I was unsure about the shard system, however the progression of when you get either spirit shards or extra shard slots works beautifully, I never felt like I was restricted by the having too few shard slots or that specific shards came in way too late into my exploration. I thoroughly enjoy the customization the shard system offers as well as weapon weapon system, both give you what you need to have fun and get what you need done at the right time and both do a great job of pacing themselves with how much they give you at your disposal.
TLDR of this section: The shard and weapon systems work great.

Something that I wont touch on in depth due to spoilers is the tools the player is given to explore the land of Niwen far surpassed what I thought would be possible of this game. The movement options that Ori has are just mind blowing and somehow make Blind forest's movement look weak.
TLDR of this section: The movement is amazing and far surpassed my expectations and hopes.

My only gripe with the game is the apparent slight rush. It took me two play-throughs of Blind forest to find my first glitch, which was when i clipped an enemy into a wall. At the time of this review I have only encountered one glitch which forced me to restart my game. There are however a few sound and texture glitches however those are not too intrusive on gameplay, especially the texture glitches which are often times very hard to notice. But I am glad how polished this game is regardless of the publisher's wishes to get this game out quickly.
TLDR of this section: Very few gameplay affecting glitches, a few hard to notice glitches. The game is still really polished overall.

TLDR of everything: This game is amazing, it far surpasses Blind forest and that is an extreme feat which the devs have managed to pull off. I thoroughly recommend playing this game.

After finishing the game I can say confidently it's amazing.

good review! But I think some places are too hard for keyboards to play, they should change it.
