Not really an ARPG, more like a MOBA with extraction elements but with little to no cohesion between the elements they advertise or want to work together. The game is much more fun to watch other people play than to actually play it yourself as you will simply be camped right off the bat. If you are not playing with a friend, prepared to be 2v1 immediately ruining any chance at fun forming. There could be something here, but Steamcharts and twitch viewership point to that not being very likely.

My first review (saved for posterity below) was written in haste. I gave it another 15 solid hours across a few characters and have found the game to just be...not fun. An absolute tedious slog that feels completely unrewarding. I can't speak for everyone, but I play ARPGs for that dopamine hit; give me the flashy colors and loot piñata enemies and occasional really good drop to feed me just enough to keep going. This game offers none of that in an incredibly deliberate way. It feels punishing and unrewarding in a way that makes you feel like the developers are intentionally laughing at you or standing over in the corner and chuffing about saying "You just don't get it". Maybe I don't, but I can certainly tell when something is disrespecting my time.

This game is kinda dog-ass right now and I don't mean in terms of the server performance (which was to be expected on launch).

Poor implementation decisions right off the bat demonstrate the priorities the team took in regards to the most simple of things (like playing with friends) and are portents of how this product will be treated in the long term. The lies right off the bat also do not bode well for the future of this game (delayed due to wanting to ensure POE 1 MTX would work in POE 2 yet more than 50% of MTX currently do not work?).

Someday, maybe, this game can or will be good but as it stands it really just feels like a polished turd.

The versus update is absolute dog ass. The changes they made to crafting have absolutely killed any fun left and versus itself is irredeemably unfun.

Game gives you less direction than Dark Souls. More frustrating than fun to play.

I do not understand the hype with this.

The graphics are ok but nothing special. The music is repetitive and quickly fatiguing. The rouge-light aspect of it keeps it "fresh" for a minuscule amount of time. Controls are downright awful for having so few things to control. Overall a regretful purchase.

Holy bugs (no pun intended here). Game just repeatedly crashes at random spots. Looks pretty but it clearly needs work. Not worth the asking price right now.

I just can't find the fun. It has all the ingredients of a great survival RPG but just comes out so incredibly bland. Seems to be good if your into the building of things but the RPG aspects are just not very fun.

This game gives you incurable cancer.

This is delightfully fun. Pretty unique tower designs that let you come up with some fun strategies. Bosses are tough and the enrage mechanic can make you mess with the best laid plans. Really enjoying my play through so far.
