it's honestly a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game - to this day. let's go explore all these planets - oh wait, all the terrain generation is mostly the same and any 'biological' entity is just a copy+paste of physics from the last planet, wow. awesome. unique... like, they put cacti on a billion planets, and it's somehow an entirely unique planet that nobody has seen before. um, I live in Colorado. I see cacti on the regular basis, bud - I don't need to go to a whole new planet to see this

DO NOT BUY FROM THE STORE!!!!!!! IT IS A SCAM!! Devs are turning game into cashgrab. I bought this game for $24 in 2016, according to my purchase history. it is now $50. DO NOT BUY. The good devs were fired, and money-hungry devs were replaced. Do. Not. Buy.

Save your money, and do not feed the greedy. Cannot stress this enough: Do not buy this game.
It's *barely* fun for now - until everything must be paid for. Don't feed these new, disgustingly greedy devs.

it's alright if you wanna mod it

Awesome. I sat around for 30 minutes in the first section just talking to all the officers and hearing their roasts. Wish squaddies could occasionally comment on things or hold conversations. I guess that's why I kept Wilson (is he a mf Cast Away reference?)

Anyways, the story is fun. Soundtrack has some nice songs - definitely reminds me of classic HL2 when it keeps playing and everything is dead. Love it because I get to hear the whole song. Unique weapons are cool. Some of the unique enemies - like irradiated zombies - seem very cartoonish with the baby blue radiation. Unique rebels were fan-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-tastic and seemed flawless. The AI somehow pathfinds better than the HL2 games. Loved the Portal/Aperture section; having to deal with the boss was a little annoying while trying to solve puzzles, but it got my heart racing the first couple times it chased me before learning how to cheese it.

My biggest problem is that the level spacing is very strange. Specifically any level that is near the Aperture section. In one room, you are killing dozens of rebels. You open a door or two, and it's like you walk into a combine hub that's full of overwatch and elites. Why are they so close together, but not doing anything? Very strange design which dulls the atmosphere. Fortunately, it is noticeable only a couple times.

if Arma 4 is anything like this, you're better off going back to Arma 3 or just playing Squad because this game is exactly like Squad - just worse.

Devs really took a step in the wrong direction to accommodate console support when the entire ArmA series have been dedicated to PC players. The game is restrictive due to this and lacks the freedoms you had in previous titles.

On top of all this, despite this game trying out Enfusion - an engine that's supposedly technologically advanced - still uses death animations from their 2009 game, Arma 2? yikes.

who's idea was it to give you an allergy to darkness?

played Swat 4 a lot with my dad when I was younger. planning on buying this game for him sometime soon. hope the devs don't disappoint
