The best strategy game there is. The basic concept how the world dynamically works is absolutely brilliant. You can see it extremely well when converting from Crusader Kings II to Europa Universalis. I have seen Poland becoming from a tiny and weak nation of few provinces to a world power by having good alliances and focusing on military technologies. I have seen Sicilian Empire having a navy twice the size of the second biggest navy in the game, and then later seeing the collapse of the empire. I have seen tiny Ireland colonizing its way to Siberia. South-America, South-Africa, India, Indonesia and then Siberia... I have seen Shetland declaring independence and become a tiny nation of Finland, while I play as the Empire of Finland. I have seen Anatolia becoming similar to the real life Ottoman empire.

In most grand strategy games, all that is scripted, but in EUIV, it all happens by the game's own dynamic, and that's absolutely great.

Edit: Nowadays the game becomes unplayable in the 1700's, so I cannot recommend this game anymore. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game lol.
