Greate Souls-like combat. The game is a bit more linear like Dark Souls, not of exploration like Elden Ring. However the core gameplay is so fun, combat isn't hard but its a bit complex, and epicly fun.

Dragons Dogma 2 is realizing the fantasy of D&D, not in the way BG3 does being turn-based, but D&D if it was real time action.

The game doesnt bother to explain much, you have to explore and naturally discover on your own, this can be great if things go well. But if you make big mistakes and lose hours of progress it will make you sad. Dragons Dogma 2 is an incredibly cool and fun game for those who persevere and respect the game enough to understand it.

Peformance issues will get fixed and the Microtransaction store is irrelevant to gameplay. When it comes to videogames it is Gameplay alone that matters, and DD2 delivers hard in Combat and Exploration. It's not as good as Elden Ring, but what is?

This is like Hades but as a 2d platformer, although I think its even better with the rotating 4 spells system making each run fresh and unique. I got to the end boss twice, never beat him but I was satisfied with the gameplay loop and didnt want to start another run. I think the runs are a bit too long as you get further but thats just a me problem. Highly Recommend for those who like challenging games.

Like the late Totalbiscuit said, this is a Diablo-style aRPG that's worth your time. Doesn't matter if one league is bad, in the grand scheme we are lucky to have developers like grinding gears.

Game is identical to the board game without the downsides. No set-up or tear down, no misunderstanding rules. Just pure tactics goodness.

This game sets the bar for how to make an amazing open-world RPG.

The kind of game you play for 2-3 hours with friends and enjoy it, but never have the desire to go back to it because the novelty has worn off. I would give this game a thumbs up if it was perhaps ~$20, it may be worth that. But with the $60 price tag plus so many Day 1 DLC's and the promise of more expensive DLC's, its just wrong. 2K trying to grab as much money as they can before people realize their mistake.
