It brings quality of life improvements, modern graphics, extra content.
On the other side, the newer campaigns keep getting more and more boring, there is no interesting story to keep you excited. The missions are somewhat okay.
The original AoE as well as the HD version have never crashed on my PCs in fifteen years. This one crashes every now and then.
Older campaigns are getting edited, artwork removed and replaced with dumbed down versions.
I can't help but feel that the publisher here tries to milk all the money they can by throwing new, lower quality, content at you.
Looks like it's time to go back to the old and better games then.

What an experience this game is. The story is very thought provoking and certainly very relevant now that the science of AI is advancing rapidly. It also made me aware of so many great books that I plan to read, from short references that have been added to the game.

Such a great game ruined by recent updates that broke basic mechanics like docking and salvaging. Only attempt this if you're prepared to look for and apply fixes manually.

While this is an interesting fresh take on the franchise, it leaves a lot to be desired.

Non-backwards compatible game updates that make your previous saves invalid? It's 2022, damn it.
No game speed options.
No ability to quickly delete old saves by using keyboard shortcuts.
You cannot overwrite save games, leading to hundreds of them.
Many animations and cut scenes are full of bugs, looking like they were made in haste.

The content is good and the documentary videos are certainly entertaining. But overall it feels like a mediocre store with a super polished front. And the price is too high.

CS:GO Review
Infested with cheaters, matchmaking queues are broken at least once every week and you just wait indefinitely, while they try to milk the players with game passes and additional skins so that they can also profit from steam market.

Despite its drawbacks, as mentioned in other reviews, this is a beautiful experience with no extremely hard puzzles. Even if you consider them so, the dev team themselves are active on the game's discussions on Steam.

The story is a great thought provoking adventure, touching on ethics of artificial intelligence, the unknown cosmos and life itself. I really enjoyed it in spite of some moments I had to do something twice because I didn't remember which path I took or I had to search online for some hints.

Either way, these developers deserve your money. If unsure, do not miss this when on sale!

Even though it's a great game I cannot recommend it due to its noticeable amount of bugs and glitches. One of them blocks the story line mode completion as well, with no other workaround than to load from earlier saves (before starting the problematic mission).

I mean, if you keep selling the game, you should also be able to find a couple of developers to patch the critical issues.

Nice little travel & profit game. Unfortunately it requires some grinding that is not quite pleasant and requires you to go through tedious back and forth trips just to manage to make some profit which is mandatory for proceeding with the main quest line. Not enough side quests to help with making money too. The random events are not too many as well, which results in expected behaviour after playing for a couple of hours. Needs more work before it becomes an enjoyable game.

P.S. Lots of grammar errors as well. Lots of occurences of plural usage instead of possession (e.g. "caravans" instead of "caravan's").

Doesn't have the complex simplicity of the first Rome or anything new to offer after Medieval II. In my eyes this is just a re-designed Medieval II with different cinematics, factions and campaign structure.
