This game smashed my expectations.
I bought this game on a whim due to it being on the front page's "new and trending" tab.
A lovely Oldschool Runescape aesthetic, with Skyrim gameplay and Souls-like progression.
The game is self-disclosed to be short, but perhaps longer than you'd think.
With no map system, you're left to explore by yourself, giving a King's Field experience.
The audio design is stellar, very fitting to the aesthetic.

I loved this game, and just had to 100% it. With some promised future content on the way, and a possible sequel later on, I'm off to follow this developer for the foreseeable future.

I really don't care for strategy games. I suck at turn-based RPG's and MOBA's disinterest me. Subset's convinced me to eventually grab Into the Breach with their previous roguelike, FTL: Faster Than Light, and I'm not at all disappointed. The roguelike elements and the fantastic music by Ben Prunty has me immersed and sharing the adrenaline with the pilots in the game. If you enjoy roguelikes, this game is worth the grab.

If you can avoid the bandwagon, this game can be worth it. Especially if this is your first Fighter, this game is especially great for starting off. With how cheap this game gets and all the free weekends it gets, the game is worth the shot if you have the time. Decide then if you want to invest further in with DLC.

Alright~! So, the game is more or less finished, after...literal years of updating.
Let me be clear. This game is a great buy if you and a friend buy Ultimate Edition together. There's a story mode now, and while it's pretty minimal, it'll help teach you the basics, and can be played Coop. It's moddable, got difficulties for every player (that isn't to say some difficulties can be accessed fromt he start), a TON of upgrades, perks, weapons, and pretty much whatever you could want in terms of customization. It's a really solid game, and while it took many ups and downs to get here, I can finally say that this game is settling down to be a lot of fun.

A Hat in Time starts off as one of the most charming games I've ever played. While I hadn't followed the kickstart directly, the name brushed across me several times during development and I never really payed much attention to it. When I first saw some gameplay, I knew I had to buy it. Even with a small development team, this game brings charm, humor, and fun gameplay to make a fairly composed game.

Pros:

  • Amazingly cute and charming experience.
  • Worlds and characters feel unique and stylized.
  • Game mechanics are solid and fleshed out.
  • One of the rare occasions where you can feel the sheer amount of love put into a game.

    Cons:

  • You can finish the game fairly quickly.
  • Sometimes the level geometry can be a bit confusing, large, or glitchy.
  • Camera angles can sometimes be garbage.

This game is a great purchase, even without waiting for a sale. I can't wait to see where Gears For Breakfast goes next!

Nier:Automata is one of those games best played completely blind. Let it blow you away on it's own, the "very positive review" up top describes this game accurately enough. Buy this game on a sale, and just enjoy it.

Undertale takes the player, and throws them into a situation which is incredibly rare for games, making you realize your actions for what they mean, and not what they are, from the very beggining of the game. Emotion, humor, adventure, amazing music and artwork, and a slight sense of dystopia lingers in this emotion packed RPG. The moment I beat it (or thought I had!), I knew this game was a must-play for anyone looking for a ultimately satisfying experience.

Finally, I'd like to relate this game to Cave Story. If you enjoyed Cave Story, and are even slightly wanting a similer experience, this game is most certainly for you.

Bravo!
