Giving a bad review because of performance issues is fair.
Now, my setup (32GB RAM, 3090, 8core@4.6Ghz) is good enough to not face any issues running the game at a smooth ~60fps in ultra + raytracing, so I don't really relate.

Performance considerations mentioned, I personally love this game, and the gameplay is excellent. The quests are faster paced that in World, you can join your friends even in early level quests (server issues notwithstanding), and everything feels more streamlined.
I would heartily recommend the game to fans of the franchise, and still think that having this much life expectancy for such a price, in 2025, is too much value to pass on.

Fast paced, relatively simple, developers clearly put effort into their game and it shows. Just play a couple of games, and get hooked :)

Extremely cool pixel art, perfectly balanced difficulty (normal is normal, hard is hard), soundtrack absolutely slaps, ... And finally the story. God the story. I literally played this game from start to finish in one go from how badly I wanted to know what was going on in this wild storyline. I won't spoil anything, but it's really well written, and keeps you coming back for more.
This really fits within my library, and reminds me of Hyper Light Drifter, Metal Slug, Celeste, Dead Cells, Crosscode, etc.
If you liked these games above, you will love Katana Zero!

Brings new monsters, armors and weapons. Also makes some weapons more viable (switchaxe comes to mind)
Feels like a new game, but it's also noteworthy that no new game would have so little content (*only* one new region, etc.)
Definitely an expensive DLC, but I don't regret buying it

The story is decent, albeit sometimes a little too slow (forced "investigations" can be repetitive). However, you don't buy this game for its story, but for the epicness of monster hunting, and all that comes along with it.

If you have a couple friends who like the concept behind the game - Killing enormous monsters and dragons while wielding massive swords, explosive hammers or poisonous insects - then this game is a good buy.

It also has a huge lifespan compared to most recent games.

Great game, not much else to say.
If you like roguelikes, you'll like it, if not, you won't. I think.

Do you really need to think to buy this ?

The worst part. Or is it the best part ?
Is that playing a game offline doesn't seem to add playtime to your steam account, so there are pros and cons.
Pros : It looks like i bought it for the steamgaming of gaining levels
Cons : Can't brag about it in the review section
Don't have any achievements. And that's REALLY annoying

But at least I have rocket league :)
