I've played a lot of card games and this is probably my favourite. The combination of card game and board game is interesting and rewards skill more so than other card games like hearthstone. The pixel art is charming and wonderful, the gameplay is quick and fun, I love all the factions in the game but I absolutely love Songhai. The inclusion of the old music is a nice touch as well, which you can find in the settings menu.

A lot of people have had major concerns about the card rate acquisition, however I feel as though this issue has been addressed in the most recent update, at least to the point of being more accessible for new/free-to-play players. I only really play one Faction, and I logged into to see that i'd been given loads of cards and spirit, enough to get all the cards I wanted for Songhai and 21 card packs, which is fairly generous especially considering how the level up rewards are unlocked even faster for lower level factions. The gold acquisition rate is pretty slow though, I wouldn't suggest focusing too hard on your quests if you don't enjoy playing the faction the quest is for. Time is your most precious resource after all!

My advice for anybody getting into this game, don't disenchant commons or rares - it will only bite you in the long run. Most of the Legendaries in the game aren't even good, disenchant those to focus on acquiring the rares and epics you need. Check out some decks on Decklyst to get some idea of what cards people are actually playing with, and prioritise a deck with a simpler strategy like Lyonar midrange/Songhai aggro rather than a gimmick deck that need lots of epics like Artefact Vetruvian, but at the end of the day only you know what you love playing!

Give the game a go, and if you have already before the last update and felt the game was too stingy, log in, see what rewards you get, maybe level up a bit by playing with friends or on the ladder - either way, I really hope you continue to enjoy this beautiful game!
