Cute, but too short for the price. Grab it on sale if anything.

I couldn't put this game down. My boyfriend was genuinely concerned by how overcome I was with the need to fish. Dredge has everything- fishing, dredging, bartering, lovecraftian horror, oil drilling, dead wives- what more could you want? 11/10, strong contender for my game of the year.

I'll be honest- I played the demo before the game came out of early access and wasn't impressed. Dull graphics, basic mechanics, etc. I avoided Planet Crafter for a while because of this, but kept seeing its name pop up whenever I would go searching for a game to fill the hole Subnautica left me. My point is not to compare these two games, but to give Planet Crafter a chance if you have doubts like I did. I thoroughly enjoyed the progression system of building a planet up from nothing but sand and minerals to a thriving ecosystem full of life and recommend this game to anyone looking to play through that experience.

Fantastic sequel. Though it still has a few bugs yet to be worked out, I had just as much playing RotSP as I did JttSP. Yes, the forced third person is certainly... a choice, but it quickly becomes just as charming as the rest of the game. RIP Adrian Burhop, no one could've played Martin Tweed as well as you.

I'll be honest, I was going to be a lot harsher in my review until I saw just how small the dev group that made this game was. Yes, there are bugs here and there and QoL improvements that could be made, but you can tell Nova Lands is a labor of love. I recommend picking it up if you're into semi-idle, cute automation games and need a quick fix. I only wish this game was longer/pushed the player to continue with the DLC more after completing the main story, but overall I recommend it.

Amber Isle still feels like an Early Access game that should've spent another year or two in the oven. The elements of greatness are there, but the amount of bugs mixed with the lack of late game content make the overall game a drag to play. At this point I'm just grinding out the last two achievements that I feel would've been complete already if more emphasis was put on certain concepts, but that's how most of the game feels to be honest. The character creation system is cute but surprisingly limited, the gameplay loop gets stale after a few hours, and the friendship system is nothing new. Other games have done the same things better, so I can only recommend if you are absolutely starved for cute dinosaur content (it's only real standout feature).

Who knew a game about easing folks from all different walks of life into their final moments could make me so emotional?

Play it more than once, or watch someone else play it. Get your friend to play it and watch them. Watch a video essay about it. Whatever you do, give this game and its storytelling time to sink in, and give yourself the time to properly enjoy all of the foreshadowing and analogies presented in this wonderful video game about horribly realistic topics.
