After a very troubled release, where it took almost 24 hours to actually make the game playable for most people; it turned out that High Voltage Studies made a pretty shoddy port, which was highly disappointing. The capped FPS at 60 is annoying but acceptable, but the fact cut-scenes, fatalities and X-Ray moves (arguably one of MKX's main selling points) are all locked to 30 FPS, which makes performing these moves very jarring, and not as satisfying as I think they could be. Also there have been problems with updates of 15GB in size, which quite often cause just as many problems as they fix.

Now that the port information is over, the game itself is a very deep and satisfying experience. Although the story isn't as engrossing as MK9 (and is also about 1/3rd of the length) it is still satisfying and is an example of how the story mode in a fighting game should be, a fully featured and satisfying experience; not some after thought that is tacked on late on in a games production.

Other features that are available are challenge towers, and these are a very large part of the games offline content, there are live towers, which have leaderboards and are updated hourly, daily and weekly. Test your might and test your luck are just some examples of returning challenge towers that are featured in this game, and they are well though out, and a great inclusion to the title.

Now, onto the part of the game that most people are interested in, the online play. Although the combat is so deep and rich, with such varied and well thought out characters this has the potential to be one of the best online fighting experiences available in recent memory, however the game is plagued with poor connection problems, frequent disconnects, a lot of downtime between matches and seemingly no matchmaking in the 'ranked' game mode, leave me feeling quite disappointing and wishing desperately that it was done right.

Unfortunately because of the relatively short story and really disappointing online experience, I cannot reccomend this game AT FULL PRICE, if the game goes on sale for less than $30/£20 then it is a steal, but at full price, it is a hard sell.

TL;DR: Very buggy on PC, poor online experience, and short story mode mean the game isn't worth the full asking price, on sale will be a good purchase.

CS:GO Review
A highly competitive FPS, made on the ever reliable source engine (we won't mention the occasional crashes when you alt tab). This game is good for both the casual and highly competitive players who enjoy First Person Shooters. However when playing casual, expect to be thrown in with players having 10 hours on the game and those with 1000 hours, which can sometimes get frustrating.

However the competitive mode is definitely the highlight of the game, where teamwork and communication is everything, a microphone and decent set of headphones/surround sound speakers wouldnt go amiss here. The game runs extremely well and has dedicated servers for all to play on, and the servers will survive for many years into the future, as this is a game fully endorsed and supported by valve.

A steal at the full price, nevermind the sale prices! A must buy for any PC gamer looking to spend hours upon hours of pumping lead into scrubs.

Enjoy!

Bioshock Infinite is the 3rd game in a series of critically acclaimed, alternate history First Person Shooter (FPS) games under the title of "Bioshock". Infinite however makes a departure from the themes of the other games as it is set in a different city, Columbia, a utopian society living on a city in the sky; it is also set at a much earlier time than its predecessors in around 1912 as opposed to 1940-1950. The game follows the story of Booker Dewitt, a private investigator tasked with rescuing a girl named Elizabeth.

Now though this seems like a very bland and overdone story, it manages to masterfully inject other themes into the game, such as racial hate at this time, terrorism, religion and even at some points scientific theories!

The roller coaster (or skyline) ride this game takes takes you on story wise is astounding, with the AI companion that you spend most of the game with (Elizabeth) feeling like a natural character that develops throughout the game and doesn't feel like some stretched out escort quest; her animation quality is astounding along with the graphical fidelity that irrational games has manged to achieve, you will find yourself falling in love with the environment, the visual design and most importantly, Elizabeth.

However, what you won't be falling in love with any time soon is the combat. Unfortunately Infinite's combat system is somewhat bland, with generic weapons that don't really feel very interesting, and a passive effects only upgrade system that you would be hard pressed to tell the difference with in some cases; you feel yourself longing for more story, more time to spend with the amazing characters and dialogue, and towards the end rolling your eyes every time you see a Vox or a Founder. The game does make an attempt to make the combat more interesting through the use of almost comic book hero like powers, such as creating electrocution traps, throwing balls of fire at enemies and other such abilities named vigors; and while fun at first unfortunately towards the end of the game they start to feel useless and will often find yourself forgetting to use them as they are often quite situational, and if you do use them it is likely you will heavily use 2 or 3 and barely ever use the others.

If you are looking for a game with masterful story telling, immense sound design and great graphical fidelity and setting, Then Bioshock Infinite is for you; but if good, solid game play mechanics that stay fun throughout the game is what you want, then you may not enjoy it. Though either way I would recommend purchasing this if it is ever on sale just for the pure fact that the story is so song; just stick it on easy and breeze through the game, marveling at the sights Columbia has to offer.

I give this game a Good/10
