Review

+ Merits:

The final installment in the Arkham series represents an exemplary Batman simulator that truly transforms the player into the Caped Crusader. With the access to Batman's superlative gadgets and the opportunity to roam Gotham city with the long-awaited Batmobile, it's time to perform justice and even the odds. The game splendidly makes the player not only experience the Dark Knight's arsenal but also share his sensations and emotions through its elegant presentation of a superb story. From my perspective, this is one of the best stories I've experienced in a video game. It provokes your emotions with its twisted events, captivating drama, a city affluent with Easter Eggs and comic book references, and a fitting ending that is absolute according to the overall story continuum of the whole series.

Batman: Arkham Knight did innovate most of its predecessors' aspects (except boss fights). It has 5 times the scale of Batman: Arkham City's map. The Batmobile alone amasses a polycount that equals the total polycount in the entire Arkham Asylum game. The tactically oriented predator mode is sophisticated in a good way and has never been this good thanks to ramping up the challenge. The combat is the same good old strike and counter style but with remarkable improvements. The addition of the tag team mode adds a delightful taste to the formula. The Batmobile features some invigorating mechanisms and a decent control scheme. The well-directed focus on side quests makes them compelling and important for the comprehensive experience.

The visual section is where it truly shines. From the excellent lighting and weather effects to the detailed high-resolution textures to the exceptional attention to detail to the outstanding characters' models and facial details: all these demonstrate the top-notch graphical power of the game. The characters' souls are supremely fitting; their behavior, intentions, and actions are defined by the originality of their spirits that live in the comic books. The atmosphere is dark, mysterious, cryptic and above all genuinely molds the psyche of Gotham.

The game's cut scenes can be edited and produced into a vivid movie. They are done with care and tailored by quality in addition to being amplified with a great script, scintillating visuals, glamorous voice acting performances, brilliant dialogue, and realistic animations. I do adore the collectibles section and the different elements it holds for the player to experience; it's like everything the player needs to dissolve in the world of Batman. Above all, the game truly does justice in depicting the Batman character and defining him in the way it should be.

- Flaws:

Let's start the bad section with the disappointing and dull boss fights. I really can't find an excuse for those lazy battles. I think Rocksteady forgot that boss battles are one of the crucial pros that made the Arkham series phenomenal hands down. Batmobile sections can get a bit annoying over time due to its overuse in the plot. Although the game has gone through many updates and some overhauls, the PC port of the game is still not what is to be expected due to the implementation of an anti-tampering DRM. I strongly vote against Denuvo, as it consumes a great deal of processing power that is better allocated in the demands of the game instead of going to waste.

> Verdict:

Batman: Arkham Knight is the perfect way to impersonate Batman. With the bountiful supply of batman's equipment and the addition of a fully playable Batmobile, what else do you need? It's the ultimate Batman experience that I would recommend for any batman fan, especially comic book enthusiasts. I endorse buying the premium edition, as it includes all the DLCs that consist of new customs, Batmobiles, challenge packs, and story missions for you to dive into.

I still have to play Arkham Knight.
I enjoyed the first two games, but I got tremendously bored in the third one, Origins.
This one looks more appealing than that meme of a prequel.

Shame about the boss fights. I can remember my games of the first BM: AA. Those were what kept me playing. They were perfect. Still I think I can look past these and get the game.
