What makes a good horror game, in my humble opinion, is all about suspense and atmosphere. And this game has both in spades.

First is the sound design. In this game you hear your character's heartbeat (and she has a diminished stamina bar for running away) when you get too close to a spirit. Add to that the ambience and the enemy groans and snorts, and you're in for a creepy ride indeed.

Second is the visual design, and the art for this game is on par with the likes of Silent Hill or Zero/Fatal Frame. A lot of the spirits are not downright menacing, but rather strange and curious, and it really captures the right feel for such ambiguous creatures.

The story is pretty minimalist as well, with a very basic outline that gets your character motivated to explore the night. But that's really all they need. I think leaving the nature of the enemies a question was a good story decision.

So overall, I'd highly recommend this game if you're looking for something spooky and atmospheric.

I know this isn't a bad game but 50 hours? Seriously?
