i played on the day the new dlc came out and still couldn't find a match, had it set to all ranks and everything. there's no way there isn't at least ONE person with a decent (or even bad) connection playing at the same time as me in all of NA. please, someone fix this game's matchmaking.

The game is fun.

They have not made a fun 3D Sonic game in almost a decade.

It's not perfect, but it is a massive step in the right direction, especially considering the last 3D Sonic game was Sonic Forces.

Morio Kishimoto, you are a madman and I love you.

I don't think I've ever played a game with a more tightly designed gameplay loop.

In other modern FPS games, the player hides behind objects and shoots things with their favorite gun over and over and over again with little need to mix things up, think on their feet, or execute without mistakes. Even on more extreme difficulties, your usual modern FPS will do little more than up the amount of damage your opponents deal and take with little thought as to how that actually affects the flow of combat. Outside of satisfying gunplay and pretty graphics, these games don't offer very much to a player looking for something more involved.

While it's gunplay is not as fancy or realistic as other titles, every single weapon you have is a tool that does a specific job, meaning every weapon is relevant until the very last level of the DLC. Destroy shields rapidly with the Plasma Gun, destroy weak points by quickscoping with the Heavy Cannon, use the Shotgun to shoot sticky bombs into a cacodemons mouth to stun it instantly. Glory kills will give you more health, killing enemies while they're on fire will give you more armor, and using the chainsaw will replenish the relatively small amount of ammo you receive in DOOM. Every action feeds into the next and it takes expert utilization of the player's movement, weapons and weapon mods, and special actions like glory kills and the chainsaw to even begin to master combat.

And it doesn't stop there. Take down heavy demons quicker by comboing weapons, quickly swapping between guns with slower reload times to deal crazy amounts of damage in a short period of time. Flame Belch a group of enemies and use a grenade to replenish insane amounts of armor. Use the ice grenade and then the normal grenade to replenish a ton of health. With the addition of new mechanics and a new weapon in the DLC, the potential for just how far you can push this game's mechanics seems almost limitless. Just watch an ultra-nightmare 100% speedrun sometime, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

It's a not a perfect game-- bugs become more apparent the more you play, the game is genuinely terrible at communicating any of its story to the player (rEaD tHe CoDeX eNtRiEs), but few first-person shooters can stand beside how thoughtful and well put together DOOM's gameplay is.

TL;DR well designed, challenging, and fun. Get.

9/10

BONEWORKS is arguably the best VR game that I have ever played.

As an ambitious indie title, it's can be rough around the edges, but the level of immersion and freedom that the game's complex physics system provides remains completely unmatched by every other VR title on the market. Every puzzle can be solved in an infinite number of ways, every combat interaction can be approached in however the player sees fit, every level has a multitude of secrets an alternate paths to explore. How you move through each level is completely up to your imagination, and BONEWORKS is more than willing to reward the player for experimenting with it's systems. There are a wide array of collectibles scattered through each level, and the more you're able to find, the more options you have for traversing stages and defeating enemies. As such, BONEWORKS has an insane amount of replayability, bolstered even further by the game's multiple sandbox and arena maps, which give you even more to do with the game's systems.

This is already a masterpiece, and I am so so excited to see how Stress Level Zero builds on the foundation they have created here with their next project.

What up son!
