Another brick in LEGO’s wall of games. In my opinion, The LEGO Movie Videogame is just another LEGO game; and thus has all the fun things you’d come to expect from one. Everything is good, well written and fun. The story is basically the same as the movie with a few minor changes to fit the game format. The gameplay is what you would expect, fun co-op, puzzle solving and of course, smashing everything in sight. The game has a semi-open world, that is very diverse, ranging from literal sunshines and rainbows to the desert heat of the wild west.

The most defining feature of this game is the visual style, borrowed from the movie. Most LEGO games tend to have a mix of brick built objects and non-brick objects. However, this one stands out; due to being visually represented entirely by LEGO elements (save for the bonus level). Even the character animations are decisively LEGO, differing greatly from how characters move in other LEGO games.

Unfortunately, aside from its distinct style, The LEGO Movie Videogame is just another LEGO game. It doesn’t change much from the formula and as such feels like an almost copy and paste from other previous games. There’s nothing wrong with the game, it’s just… average. There’s just not enough to make it stand out in the crowd of LEGO games. It’s not bad or below standard, just… average.

All in all, if you like LEGO games then, let’s face it, you’ve probably already bought this game. If you don’t mind the occasional LEGO game then there are better LEGO games to play. That’s not to say i don’t recommend getting this game, it still has its merit and is just as good as any LEGO game before it. So if you see it on sale, just give it a go; you won't be disappointed.

Life Is Strange is a very well written and heartfelt story-based game with some photography and time travel elements thrown in; because why not? The game’s story revolves around Max, her childhood best friend Chloe and Max’s mysterious ability to rewind time. I must praise the game for how it handles time travel so well. It doesn’t try to explain any complicated paradoxes or theories. Instead the game decides to show rather than tell, a good choice on the developer's part as it allows the game to focus more on the story and not some boring exposition that would’ve taken a whole episode just to set up. The pacing is good, each episode becomes more and more intense than the last, not once did i feel like the game was boring (except for when you need to interrogate someone and keep asking the wrong questions, leading you to rewind over and over again over the same dialogue, at least you can skip old dialogue). The characters were pretty well developed and i got a sense that all the characters were multi faceted and not just one dimensional robots. The relationship between the two main characters; Max and Chloe, is extremely moving and genuine.

Of course, a game all about choices needs to have good consequences to boot, and i can say without a doubt that this has been the best game in terms of impactful decision that i have played. The choices you make in the first episode reverberate and affect the events all the way up to the fourth. Every choice feels worthwhile and impactful not just immediately but also further down the track. However, as the story gets closer and closer to the end, i felt that my choices felt less impactful and furthermore, i felt like the game gradually became more linear as i neared the end. To the point where the ending is decided by one of two choices that are unaffected by all of your previous actions. In other words, you get a measly two multiple endings and they are irrelevant to all of your previous decisions. This is most unfortunate and it leaves a bitter aftertaste. A poor ending to an otherwise great game.

On another note, the soundtrack is just heavenly, 10/10. It is wonderful from start to finish. The the icing on the cake. The graphics are also great, looking almost pastel-like with most of the colours blending nicely with each other and the odd splash of vibrancy to contrast beautifully with the rest.

All in all, it’s a bittersweet story of friendship that takes you on a wild roller coaster of emotions. I would definitely recommend a full price buy for at least the first episode, due to the ending i can’t really recommend the others at full price. But you should definitely get the whole series if it’s on sale.

I like playing this game occaisionally to keep my reflexes sharp for other games like csgo or tf2. it also makes a nice warmup for said reflexes.

I would definitely recommend this game if you play any other games that demand good reaction and reflexes.

Before i say anything, i'd like to say that Sachi (the cyloptic love interest of the story's protagonist) is just adorable! I don't care how creepy i'm gonna sound for saying that! While i was reading through this visual novel; i kept thinking, "aww, it's just so damn cute and adorable"

In all seriousness though, if i had to use one word to summarize this visual novel, i'd call it cute. The artstyle is really nice and well done. The music is a bit meh but it does what it needs to do. Though there's nothing explicitly NSFW in the story, there are a few on the nose moments; it kinda makes the game feel more innocent and cute.

Unfortunately the game is really short, about one to two hours, maybe three if you're a really slow reader or just admiring the art. Furthermore, the game feels rushed (what with its two month development period) and incomplete with lots of things being left out, it feels as if the game is like an unfinished canvas, it just needs a little more. The story is also pretty generic as well as being linear but that's a slight nitpick.

Honestly i wouldn't suggest buying this game at full price but it's definitely a cute little love story to buy on discount.
I really want a sequel!

Remember Me is a pretty linear game with a very interesting and memorable story. The soundtrack is really nice and it complements the futuristic dystopian setting and add an extra touch of atmosphere to an already atmospheric world.
The graphics are also beautiful and onlny add to the atmosphere. Of course an interesting story needs to have equally interesting characters and Remember Me express delivers on this part. All the characters are given a good amount of time to develop, especially the main character; Nilin. Also worth noting is that throughout the story, i did tend to question whether Nilin and "The Errorists" were actually the good guys and the villains themselves didn't come off as completely evil, blurring the line between who's right and who's wrong. Any game that can make me question the ethics of its characters is definitely a good game in my books.
However, when it comes to the gameplay, more specifically the combat, It's not very memorable and although i appreciate that the developers tried to add a level of customization to the combos, i found myself just mindlessly mashing my way through most of the fights with the basic X+X+X combo that i started with, the levels themselves were also very linear, so linear that most of the collectables are really easy to find and don't require you to deviate musch from the path.
In the end if you want a good game to play and don't care for stories then you've come to the wrong place; but if you like games with great stories, locations and characters then this is a nice little gem to have in your library, though i wouldn't reccomend buying it at full price, but you should definitely get it in a steam sale if you're even remotely interested.

Early Access Review
When writing this review, i had a really tough time thinking of any possible cons for Melody's Escape. In all honesty, Melody's Escape is as smooth as its simple art style, which i personally think is very reminiscent of an advertisement for ipods.

The concept itself is also very simple, you control Melody as she runs through the chosen track, hitting buttons to the corresponding beats. Similar to Audiosurf; Melody's Escape allows the player to use their own music, and given how easy it is to obtain free music from the internet (or whatever shady site you download from), the sky's the limit! The game's simplicity is complimented by its high level of customization that the player is given. You get to decide Melody's hairstyle, clothing (or skin, some options from the workshop are more like reskins than clothing options) and the colour scheme for the game itself. If you feel limited by the default selections you can turn to the Community Workshop for even more options to pick and choose from. And if that’s still not enough customization for you, then there’s a “ModStudio” tucked in the steam program files that allows you to start from scratch and make/edit your own unique hairstyle etc. (Might take some figuring out but there are a few guides that go over the process). There’s also an option to make your own custom difficulty to play with; which is a nice touch.

However, at the core of any game is its gameplay and its controls. So how does Melody’s escape score in these areas? Wonderfully well. the controls are nice and tight (although personally i would recommend using a controller over a keyboard). The gameplay of Melody’s Escape can be pretty difficult at times but the game’s learning curve is never unfairly difficult (unless you’re using an insanely high tempo song then well, you’ve only yourself to blame). Each is level is generated by some technical algorithm that analyses each song, but i’m no expert on the details. Despite the minimalistic amount of content you’re given in the actual game not counting your music, i seem to always come back to it. When buying Melody’s Escape, bear in mind that this is a game that’s best played in short bursts, not just because you’ll get bored after about one to two hours of back to back playing, but also because your eyes will get sore. Very, very sore.

The first issue with this game stems from the visuals. Don’t get me wrong, i love the art style and bright colours, but i’d be lying if i said that my eyes didn’t get strained after about a half hour of playing. Though the issue can easily be remedied with a couple tweaks to the settings as well as following general health and safety tips.

In summary, Melody’s Escape is a perfect game to just pick up and play casually whenever you’re bored, waiting or need to relax etc. It has a great visual style and it’s customization is boundless. The difficulty only enhances the feeling when you beat your high score; and as long as you don’t play for too long in one go than you’ll have a blast! It's also a great entry point into the rhythm genre.

Definitely a good game to have in any steam library.

This game is very short and sweet, it has an excellent story that is very deep and thought provoking. the gameplay consists of relativly easy puzzles. the voice acting is pretty good and is what helps tie the game together. the worst part of the game has to be its very short completion time and the fact that there's no replay value.

In short, if you like good stories that will last roughly 2 hours then this is a good game that i can reccomend, if you want anything other than a story then i'm afraid you've come to the wrong place.

Murdered: Soul Suspect has you playing as an undead ghost cop who needs to solve his own murder case in order to get into heaven. It's an interesting mash-up of ghosts, buddy cops and murder mysteries that will keep you busy for a while. The gameplay is centered mostly around relatively easy puzzle solving and deduction, though the game breaks this up by sprinkling in relentless demons that won't rest until they suck your soul and kill you again.'
Personally, i HATE the demons, they're like a Xenomorph from Alien, crossed with the Dementors from Harry Potter with some glowing TRON lights thrown in for good measure. Normally this wouldn't bother me but the demons quickly get annoying and they have no real purpose, they're not in cahoots with the main antagonist, the mysterious Bell Killer, it's clear they're only in the game to lengthen it.
Otherwise, the rest of the game is pretty good! The detective parts are the best, although the answers are a bit obvious. The locations are pretty fitting if not a bit cliche. Your ghost powers are pretty fun to mess with and make a cool gimick.
Unfortunately, the game has almost no replay value unless you want to get all the collectables you may have missed or if you want to 100% the achievements.
The collectables themselves are fairly decent, containing ghost stories, character thoughts and background info. My favourite would have to be unlocking the ghost stories in the different locations.

Pros:
-Good story
-Ghost powers
-Detective parts
-some good collectables

Cons:
-Cliche locations
-Those %$#@!#$@%! DEMONS!!!
-Obvious answers
-some bad collectables

Overall i would recomend this game for the story and the side cases and if it doesn't bother your morals, than you can easily find a way to get rid of those demons.

This is hands down the best ninja game i've played (full stop). It has a beautifully dark aesthethic that higlights the game's stealth element. Speaking of stealth, the game places heavy emphasis on sneaking past enemies instead of killing everything that moves, it even rewards you with bonus points for completing levels without killing enemies.

Depending on your playstyle, the levels can be easy or difficult, it all depends on whether or not you want to complete the side objectives. Your arsenal of ninja tools is just as varied as a certain caped crusader's, including things like darts, grappels, spike traps, smoke bombs and there's even a cardboard box that you can use to sneak around in.

This game really captures the feel of being a ninja, sneaking around, sticking to the shadows and being hidden in plain site. It takes a really different approach to the ninja genre of gaming, instead of jumping in, swords (katanas) slashing, you need to slip through the shadows, subtly. Just like this game, bit of a hidden gem.

Would definitely reccomend, 10/10 ;)

For an FPS, this game is meh, but for an Aliens/Predators game, this is definitly one of the best AvP games out there in space; where no one can here you scream.

A must play for any alien or predator fan, still fun for those who aren't fans.

any where from 7 to 10 out of 10 depending on whether you're an AvP fan or not
