Edit: As of May 5th 11pm Sony has gone back on their decision. I can now re-support this game with open arms. Enjoy your cups of Liber-Tea

Helldivers 2 has gone from an amazing game within the past 4 months to something I feel ashamed to support.
Sony has decided to pull a horrible idea once again and is trying to force anyone who owns this game to make a PSN to log in.
In over 100+ Countries this cannot be done and would be going against Sonys own TOS if they decided to apply for a nearby instead.
This in itself isnt bad if it was forced at launch. But now there are millions that cannot play this 40$USD game anymore because of this decision.
If this desicion is reverted I would be willing to support such a fun game again. But as of now Sony and their grubby hands want to destroy the work theyve done with their dumb ideas.

Simply a very enjoyable challenging game. I enjoy the new style of map exploration and mission objectives, as well as not having my heart torn every 5 hours when a character I spent time into dies and I have to start a grind on some new ones to replace them.

Where Reynauld. I miss my crusader that would steal everything I wanted.

Edit: We found him :D

I LOVE this game. The soundtrack, the gameplay, the little challenges and bonus stuff that's entirely optional unless you are achievement hunting. I already completed the Story mode on the Normal difficulty and only game overed twice, but even with the low amount of hours the base story mode has, its an ARCADE GAME. It isn't meant to be long, its meant to be entertaining and something you can quickly boot up whenever and have a blast. I plan to play this game with some friends during Arcade mode to have even more of a blast. A must have if you either a fan of the TMNT Series or just love Arcade Beat-Em Ups

FIrst off, let me just say I have incredibly mixed feeling about this game. But for the most part I liked it more than I hated it

This game has a lot of great things, most of the guns feel amazing, the soundtrack is great, and the story is an interesting mystery

But theres also a lot of issues I had. The ammo pickups felt super stingy. There was barely any health pickups. And some monsters were just annoying to fight

Possible spoilers ahead, so be warned

Gunplay - 8/10
I rank gunplay based on 4 things. The shotgun, the assault rifle, and the rocket launcher
The shotgun and assault rifle are some of my favorites in this game. The ability to just mow down a lot of monsters is a great feeling and gives you such a fun experience.

However I cannot say the same for the rocket launcher. It feels like im barely doing any damage, the splash damage doesnt feel like it even exists, and I had to share the ammo for my SMG that I turned into a grenade launcher. If the damage and splash radius were upgraded, or the upgrade path for it allowed these changes, I would say its an alright or pretty good rocket launcher

The rest of the weapons range from amazing to alright. The Revolvers are fun as hell to Akimbo, the SMG is fun, but I do wish I couldve tried the other option for its upgrade. The harpoon gun pierces amazingly. and the Energy Rifle is probably an all time favorite of mine

Story - 6/10
The story was very interesting at first. I felt like I was solving a mystery about a cult trying to revive an Elder god. When I was handed a stone key like object from a guy, I thought it was gonna be some sort of thing where maybe I actually revive him on accident while trying to stop him. Maybe something really cool like that.

The story kept my hopes up for something spooky, amazing, and horrifying. And I left feeling upset and disappointed. Instead of the ending being some sort of "You defeated an elder god... For now" or something like that. Cause lets be honest It doesnt make sense how a journalist could beat an elder god. Instead I was met with "It was all a dream" aka you went around just murdering guys left and right.

I didn't feel satisfied and it felt like a rushed ending or such. I really hope there is someway to improve it but it feels like all the clues leading to this cult and discovering anything about them, lead to being for nothing and just an annoyance.

Map Layout - 6/10

Similar to the story, it started out with amazing maps that I loved. Linear but not too linear so you know where to go and its easy. They felt like fun arenas where I could just shoot the ♥♥♥♥ out of cultists

Then came the later half of the game. Diverging paths everywhere. Super long key hunts. But no real puzzles just "Go find the key and hope you dont spend 30 minutes in a level"
There were not enough pickups IMO and I was on NORMAL mode. I may be a bit rusty in the Retro FPS genre, but holy hell I was always running out of ammo or having to resort to finding cover and felt like a slow, not insane fight.

If more pickups were around, I would love it a lot more and the game on its later half wouldn't have been hard because not a good amount of pickups, but hard because you have to master the guns and know the monsters.

Mechanics - 8/10

I played the journalist my run through, so I may have a different opinion than some priest players. But I felt as if the Voodoo doll and the Camera were underpowered while the Cigarettes and Cursed sword were super strong and clutch items. The sword lets you get back health after you hit a monster and the cigarettes slow down monsters by a good amount. I think the camera should just have a longer and wider range while the voodoo doll just needs to do more damage without upgrades.

Speaking of upgrades. God why can I not respec my points. I wish I couldve tried out the other weapons on my first Playthrough, or seen other ideas for weapon combos. But I was never able to because you CAN NOT RESPEC YOUR UPGRADE POINTS.

I cannot stress enough how much I HATE this. Maybe at the save shrines you could respec your points, but the fact that you get locked out of some paths makes me so angry at this lack of a feature. I will know never know how strong some other upgrades were or how they combod and this makes me feeling a bit like I missed a lot of content

Not gonna rank the monsters out of 10 because I don't feel like I should rank an entire cast. But I do have some monsters that stick out.

There are 2 flying monsters in the entire game and you dont meet them till the end. And thank god you don't, these are the most annoying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I have ever seen since they are so small and hard to see thanks to the way this game renders monsters.
The abyss watchers also are pretty annoying but thats because Im pretty sure they predict where you are going.
Theres also the small enemies that run around super fast, then stop and shoot you for a split second. I hate them but thats my own fault for not prioitizing them first.

All together, I rate this game about 6/10 or maybe a 7/10. The guns really save this game a lot but the rest of it has a nice rice of interest, to a sudden drop. Its like climbing a mountain only to realize you have to get back down at the end. I reccomend this game when its on sale

Early Access Review
I got this game this morning and have pretty much been playing it nonstop. Its amazing and I wanna go over things I really enjoy, some things I think could be worked on, and then some quality of life stuffthat I thought about while I played the game

The Good:
-Very nice soundtrack
Not much to explain for this. When a soundtrack is executed in a good manor, can be hard to provide a reason. It just feels great and matches up with the current scenarios well

-Good UI
The main UI is nice and kinda fun to look at. The Crafting UI could be a bit cleaner, but its fine as it.

-Interesting Progression System
-As you progress, you really do feel like its being done. You are infact crafting this into a hospitable planet. First the sky turns blue, then there are clouds, and it feels so good to watch your progress shape the world around you.

-Crafting
Crafting does not feel super grindy and annoying. Almost every material is easy to spot in the world due to their uniqueness. However I do wish that when upgrading, it took the item in your equipment instead of having to unequip it first to upgrade

The Bad:
-Map Size
Sometimes the map can feel too big. When that happens during an adventure where theres a lot of loot, infact too much loot, it can take way too long to bring things here to there.
-Building
The building is really good, dont get me wrong, but sometimes I just wanna sit in the sand for a minute when im trying to build something like a rocket platform and it wont build. Or I wanna remove a door/window but I have to remove the whole room instead

QOL / Wishlist
-Vehicle
I have progressed a decent bit so there could be something im missing. But I would like some sort of buggy to make travel a lot faster, maybe give it a small storage too so it makes transfering loot a lot easier
-Map
-The way that the map works is pretty basic, but I wish there was maybe a little gps on your ui after you unlocked the stuff for it. Or maybe im missing a blueprint
-Crafting
Crafting multiple things at once instead of having to reopen the menu everytime would be very nice

All in all. very fun game, very little complaints, and a great time. Maybe multiplayer will be a thing one day but that might be too much for an early access

While I havent beaten the game yet, I would say I have gotten far enough to leave a proper review with all my thoughts on this game and ratings for a few categories

General Gameplay: 8/10
Easy and simple to understand, the game slowly brings you into its mechanics but doesnt hold your hand. Instead it guides you to discover it yourself and simply tells you what button you need to press.
The bonus collectibles can require lots of thinking at times, such as learning the timing of a tool or solving a puzzle in the correct order. However I personally think a counter telling you how many pots of soup are left would be nice, as I find myself completing the level before getting all the collectibles sometimes.
The boss fights arent too hard to understand while also not being too easy. They provide a decent challenge but however are less puzzle and more "Bash it till its over" which I was a bit upset by, but something I can overlook.

Map and Level Layout: 9/10
I love the way the maps and levels are, only a few times were I confused on where to go and what to do. I feel as if this map is nigh perfect in my regards as its easy to picture out the path you will go before the level is over. And the shortcuts that are provided to quicken backtracking if it is needed are loved and I have used them before. The levels sometimes have a few hiccups such as too many bombs, but it doesnt happen for too many levels.

Soundtrack: 9.5/10
A soundtrack is one of the main factors I take in when I am playing a game. And boy is this a great soundtrack. Hell, as I write this review I am listening to the main menu theme and having a jam. The only reason I didn't give it a 10/10 was the fact that personally some soundtracks dont hit for me. But thats rare and entirely my own opinion

Humor: 8/10
I found myself laughing a lot as I played this game, especially when I was in a call with friends. The sound effects really help sell some of the humor. When I first sent a rabbit between two springs I couldnt help but laugh and keep doing it. Just watching the rabbit get faster and faster as it bounced was hilarious. If you ever get this game (Which I 100% suggest), don't be afraid to just mess around and have fun. Cause its clear thats what this game is trying to do, mess around and have fun. The puzzle solving feels like a cherry on top.

Cons:
This game doesn't feel good on keyboard to me. You need to play this with a controller if you have one. Dualshock, Xbox, or just anything works really. I bet you could find a way to hook up a SNES controller and it could work. Just use a controller and not the keyboard

Some of the puzzle difficulty is inconsistent at times it feels. I'll be doing a fairly hard level for a while only for the next level to be super easy. It doesn't happen too often but enough for me to have a complaint about it

Other than that, I 100% suggest you get this game. Im very excited to see the future of games that Pugstorm gives us and ready for more of their glorious games.

I have enjoyed this game since the release of afterbirth on multiple platforms. Switch, PS4, and Steam. With the recent release and balance changes that came from Repentance I can easily say my outlook on this game.

First some Pros:
Almost every run early on you unlock some sort of item you experience fairly quickly. Leaving you wondering what other items there are
The synergy updates in Repentance are amazing and I love experiencing them
The challenge is fun, and you can always turn hardmode off if you want an easier experience
Greed Mode is a fantastic alternative if you get one too many deaths in the base game
Certain challenges are fun
Many bosses are fun challenges that are interesting to learn about.
AMAZING SOUNDTRACK AND STORY

Cons:
The game can be too challenging at times, such as a certain bossfight thats random and hard to perfect
Certain challenges seem almost impossible and you need good luck to win
Some characters seem to be worthless or not fun compared to others. Excluding the challenge characters such as Keeper and Lost
Some secrets seem too hard to get on your own unless you try everything with everything else, which can take ages if you dont get the right seed

All in all there are upsides and downsides. No game is perfect but I would say that TBoI: Repentance is a good one with faults that are meant to challenge you or prevent you from completing the game in one sitting.

A great game. I've made some friends in this game and have a good time in a casual match and enjoy the Co-op mode called Mann vs Machine and I also enjoy the comics that they make. But my favorite thing about this game is the special modes like pass time. Halloween mode and Medival mode that only allows medival weapons. I give this game a 9/10 because they could have more workshop weapons in there game. Now I haven't made any weapons but other ideas are really good.
