The only thing this game needs is a better way to stay organized. Otherwise...perfection.

Game is just weirdly frustrating. The cute graphics wear off and you're left just looking trying to figure out what the hell something is. Even with a tutorial the game doesn't do a great job act showing you the mechanics and it's more of a trial by error and refresh the map over and over again until you find a setup that actually is usable.

There are much better factory and automation games out there now. Satisfactory for one, go check it out instead.

This is one of the best if not the best factory and automation game out there....and it's not even fully released!

The game can be frustrating to start, having to feed your biomass burners keeping your machines running but then you hit this payoff that just feels so good getting coal power. It just feels challenging enough to get to the next step and soon as you hit the payoff it keeps you going knowing that you can make your factory even better.

Highly suggest getting to understand the game in the grasslands then scrap your save and start in the Northern Forest. It is more challenging to build around the hills and mountains, but resources are closer together and biomass is readily available..

Alright been trying to get back into this game for awhile and finally had the time so start playing. Jump back in and got into Chapter 2 when holy f does the game decide it doesn't want you to have ANY sort of fun and drops a dropship worth of imperials anytime I try to do ANYTHING in this game. Yeah I can kill them or I can run, but it's annoying that I can't go and do any side quests, hunts, or even explore without the game being like OH lets just drop 16 more enemies in there for you that have so little rewards, but annoy the ever living hell out of you.

If you enjoy the city/factory building genre of game you should honestly think about getting this game.

Pros:
Super relaxing game that once you get up and running you tear down your town and build it all over again looking for those little efficiencies. Honestly I've started a new city almost every other play session and I love it.

Destroying stuff gives you the items back (for the most part) so there's no penalty for pausing the game and redoing your whole town.

I think like 8 updates have been pushed since I purchased the game and with every update it gets a little better.

Cons:
It's early access so there are some small frustrations, including the tutorial stops VERY short and doesn't key you in on a lot of the late game mechanics. The discord community though is a great help, although I still don't understand the computation blocks.

Occasionally you'll lose a worker and have to clear out something you just built in order to find them. It would be great if in the worker menu clicking them would select them.

The game doesn't tell you very well if something is wrong, like say you built a silo and it had to put scaffolding under it because the ground wasn't flat which makes it so a fishing boat can't drop off fish at the silo then. The boats will just sit there then and leave you clicking like an idiot.

Wishlist:
  1. I’ve love a better map creation tool, it's an interesting tool but not one I love, Sometimes I wish the starting areas were a little more friendly to actually getting a good start instead of giving you the space to do what you need to do, but almost guaranteed to have to destroy everything and rebuild at some point.
  2. I’d love it if the base reflected more on the age you’re in. Like early game it looks more primitive and not like a really fancy house.
  3. It would be great to see more end game efficiency mechanics like timings to get resources up the resource tree say at like a kitchen how fast are the pastures and farms feeding it, how fast is that pasture being fed animal feed, etc. Instead of having to track them individually.
  4. It would be great to be able to upgrade items instead of having to remove and replace them. Like click a cloth conveyer, and if I've got enough steel conveyers just a one click to upgrade all of them to steel conveyers.
