A strong contender for best non-Fromsoft Soulslike. It's certainly my favorite.

In fact, Lies of P can comfortably compete with Fromsoft's best titles. A top-quality showing from an unexpected developer, and I am excited to see what else they have in store for us.

The combat is super satisfying, sound design is top notch, and level design, despite being quite linear, is very strong. The only serious point of criticism I have is that most items that can be found in the world are random consumables, or weapon upgrade materials at best. If it's in a chest, it's usually unique and interesting. But everything else is kind of disappointing.

That said, I still went out of my way to collect everything I could find, because it was fun to look for the things.

This was the kind of game where I kept waiting for that one ♥♥♥♥♥♥ boss, that one area that was just horribly designed or rushed, but it didn't come. The bosses were from start to end fun to fight and interestingly designed, no signs of rush during the end, good stuff.

Strongly recommended, and my GOTY 2023.

My GOTY 2021. A fascinating and atmospheric experience told through the systems of a deckbuilder. Very much worth the asking price.

Cute and engaging, what's not to love about this game?

Plus it's free, might as well give it a try.

Probably the best Game Dev game out there right now. If you like Game Dev Tycoon, you might like this even more. It actually has a rating system that's not busted!

Laughable price hike. EA increased the prices of a lot of older games, this one got up to twice the price, some even more. Despicable.

This game is incredible. Fantastic, charming characters, lots of freedom, satisfying turn-based combat. One of the biggest surprises in videogames I have ever had. I'm not big on finishing games, I tend to lose interest beforehand, but this and DOS1 I just had to see through to the end. The first one is amazing as well, but DOS2 just barely clinches it.

If you are ever in the mood for a fantastic, deep and engaging turn-based RPG, play either DOS1 or DOS2, and right after that play the other one. That's 200 hours of quality RPG goodness right there.

Easiest recommend I have ever given. Besides F:NV.
