So this is a complicated game, after completing 3/5 of the game, I have decided to uninstall. Is the game bad? I wouldn't say so. Is it the worse fallout game? I wouldn't really say that either. The problem with Fallout Tactics is that it doesn't feel like a fallout game. Sure there's Super Mutants and the Brotherhood of Steel and Ghouls. Sure there's character creation and RPG elements and power armor. But that's not what makes Fallout, Fallout. Fallout is a series of post-apocalyptic role-playing video games set during the 21st, 22nd and 23rd centuries, and its atom-punk retro-futuristic setting and art work are influenced by the post-war culture of 1950s United States, with its combination of hope for the promises of technology and the lurking fear of nuclear annihilation. That's not what Tactics is. There is nothing atom-punk or retro-futuristic about this game, which I believe is the main reason why it's not considered cannon. For this reason I highly recommend skipping this game on your journey through the wonderful series of Fallout, and returning to it if you would like to. If you DO decide to give Fallout Tactics a try, I have heard that the GOG version of the game is technologically superior, and if I decide to give Fallout Tactics another try, I will be purchasing that version.
