Are ya ready kids?
Don't listen to the negative reviews by critics. This is a faithful remake of a platformer/collectathon game near and dear to many people's hearts, including mine. No, I'm not blinded by nostalgia, this is a genuinely good game. The controls are very responsive, the movement feels great and precise, the music is always fun to listen to and the game itself looks beautiful.

Pretty basic story: Plankton creates a machine called the "Duplicatotron 3000" that, as the name implies, duplicates things (specifically robots) in an attempt to steal the Krabby Patty Secret Formula once again. Unfortunately for him and (everyone else), he forgets to flip the switch to "Obey" and the robots rampage across the entirety of Bikini Bottom. It's up to SpongeBob and his friends to stop the robots once and for all.

There are 3 playable characters in the main game (SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy), each with unique abilities. SpongeBob is the character you're going to be playing as the most. There are 4 extra characters in the 2 player co-op horde mode (Squidward, Mr. Krabs, Gary and Robo-Plankton). SpongeBob has 2 unique unlockable moves; the Bubble Bowl and the Cruise Bubble. The Bubble Bowl allows SpongeBob to throw a bubble that rolls along the ground. This move allows you to hit enemies and buttons from afar. The Cruise Bubble on the other hand allows SpongeBob to launch a bubble in the shape of a missile. You can use it to hit enemies or other objects that you could never normally reach. It's also just really fun to use.

There are 10 unique areas you can explore freely and at your own pace. There are 6 boss battles in total, each with different gimmicks and attacks. And also the Poseidome music is a banger.

As you'd expect from a SpongeBob game, the game has a very humorous and goofy tone and doesn't take itself too seriously, but it isn't too overdone. There are many references to different SpongeBob episodes that many SpongeBob fans will enjoy.

CRITICISMS:
There are moments in the game where it drags on for a while and gets a bit frustrating (Example: Kelp Forest, which I consider to be the low point of the game) and a few noticeable bugs and glitches (Most of which will hopefully be patched later on) They did not fix many issues that the original had which is unfortunate. There are no options for key/button remapping sadly, but hopefully that will be added in an update/patch. The saturation is also a little too high, specifically on SpongeBob. He's a bit too yellow.

FINAL SCORE:
Overall the game is a very enjoyable experience. If you're not a SpongeBob fan, this'll probably just be your average everyday platformer/collectathon game. But if you are a SpongeBob fan, especially a fan of oldschool SpongeBob, this is definitely the game for you, and 100% worth your money. My final rating for this game is an 8/10. (Not a 2/10, what on earth is that score, GameSpot?)

Faithful remake of the original, it's very charming. Very satisfying to roll up more and more stuff the larger your katamari gets. If you liked the original and wanted a remake for a long time, here you go. Also perfect for people who never played the original Katamari Damacy before and want to give it a try.

Being a person who loves platformer games, both 2D and 3D, I have to say this is one of the best and most customize-able platformer games I've played (until Super Mario Maker 2 releases, anyways). It has the gameplay of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine but with a few tweaks. The mods are amazing as well. Nyakuza Metro and Online Party are both great additions to the game. The only problems I have with the online are: it lags the internet like crazy and most of the time I'm stuck in a connecting loop. Other than that it's pretty good.

I had a lot of fun playing this masterpiece of a game, and saw things that nobody else should ever see. 9/10.

I've played this game for the past 3 years and it hasn't gotten old. It's so fun. My only problem with it is the community and the lack of updates. The fact you can customize your loadout to your liking any time during the game is great. There's 9 different classes you can choose from, each with their own unique weapons and playstyles.
