This is probably the best first step into the direction of satisfying visceral melee combat I have ever experienced in my years of gaming. I was very surprised that this game is created by a solo developer. Imagine if this person could have the same resources as most established studios.

I love everything about the game. Melee action was something I have been craving ever since I've taken on Skyrim. Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal made this craving more apparent, but no other games I've played so far could ever come close to what Mortal Sin have given me. Mortal Sin melds together fast-paced FPS combat deliberate snapshot decisions in combat and action momentum breaks in the form of short but sweet dopamine hits when looting for weapons/armour and picking up the next upgrade. I have never slowed down outside of the hub in between stages, and I have always never felt getting myself stuck at a wall in trying to make my run work, but more or less be like this contestant in a Hole In the Wall trying to adapt when combat gets overwhelming sometimes as a result of my own poor choices. The combo system is a new idea to me and does evoke the feeling of a fighting game, but they are never too tedious to remember compared to the known fighting games.

I don't have much bad things to point out, but maybe occasional lag in the Forest map, particularly when chosen as the third stage. I am not sure what causes this.

All the same I want to recommend this game so much and I hope this game serves as a pivotal example of what games could be, and for the niche of high-octane fps melee games in particular because I really believe those are in scarcity.

I have just 100% the achievements, after 70ish hours of gameplay.

I love this game so much as it is reminiscent of the old RTS games - my first RTS game was Red Alert 2. I would always play defensively during the campaigns and I have dragged on for hours before completing the main objective. From Glory to Goo brings me back to that special point in time where I just enjoy the old school RTS format without needing to be mechanically gifted or skilled to worry about my APM such with the likes of Starcraft.

This game, for me, is a love letter to the old-school RTS enjoyers with its general humble design from art to sounds, but it gives a massive appeal to fans of the almost-endless replay value since maps are somewhat procedurally designed. The strategy is also expanded upon by the strategems, the variation of units unlocked via biomass, the captains (hero units which offer a lot of rogue-like boosts upon levelling), and the spaceships that are the oddly unique mini-game of handling what I would say like a fallout shelter but on space.

Personally, this is the pinnacle culmination of design for the nostalgic RTS. I hope the devs continue to enjoy making this game and continue to work on it when they still have the utmost passion for it. This is a perfect game.

I suck ass at this game. I haven't played much, and I have yet to explore about this game.

When I saw ♥♥♥♥ going down, I side against these ignorant people that call themselves game journalists or critics.

This is me doing my part to give these devs a chance, because I do look forward to whatever dream they want to craft, especially when a lot of things are on the line for these talented and genuine people.

If I could write a neutral review, I would do so.

Blightlands Blacksmith, for me, has very good and very relaxed blacksmithing mechanics, EXCEPT for the assembly portion.
Designing a weapon ( albeit with a limited amount of design choices) feels good, Hammering away a hot glowing ingot feels good, Sharpening sort of is OK but for the life of me I can't keep track of both tapping Space and A and D simultaneously.

Mining is simply atrocious, pulling the cart is nauseating, and the combat is not at all there. You just craft yourself a high dmg weappon with enough eldritch damage and you're good. The mining portion becomes non-existent even, if you gather 10 of each ore and sell it to the quartermaster.

The story follows an interesting premise, and I love that I am the manufacturer of weapons for the legion. I love that my work progresses to the "campaign" of the legion depending on what kind of weapon I sell to the banner officer. What I do not like about this, is that the scouting missions have an absurdly slow turnaround time and have rewards that are redundant. I wish that we have agency on what scouting mission to support.

Overall, I'd say the crafting mechanics are close to what a relaxing but skill-based blacksmithing game must have, but the developer seems to have ceased the updates for the game. This doesn't feel like a finished product, and there so much things left for improvement and innovation.

Is it a waste of time? Kind of. The crafting is relaxing, and a good way to past the time, but down the line it isn't very as gratifying as the first few hours. There is little to no reason to craft good weapons when the campaign is done, when the mines become obsolete, and when you've had scouting missions that give nothing new.

Buy this game, but don't get your expectations up. It's fairly cheap, and I bet the dev just created this project just to try creating something. Overall I will not recommend a game that ceases to improve, but I don't completely discourage trying it if you're curious.

This game feels confused as to what direction it should be.

Does it want to be a story-driven RPG? Kind of. But dialogue sucks, and there's not much the player can do to investigate or explore to give them more hints or story devices that would help them make a decision only then to realize that it was a bad decision and just soft locks you to force you into a fresh run.

Does it serve the "I wanna be a blacksmith itch"? Kind of. However, the entire process is more of a tedious repetition of clicks, poorly designed UI that hurts your eyes, and a skill tree that gives little perks but to maybe ease the tedium just a bit.

Overall, at its current state, (version 1.4.1) Medieval Blacksmith is a good idea but executed in the most clunkiest of ways.

It is a gross waste of time and money, and I hope the development of this project focuses on refining the blacksmithing portion first by upgrading shallow and tedious mechanics then the story later, because let's face it. It's a blacksmithing game, but if you're locked into the thought of that it should strictly be a tedious clicker, then I'd rather play a clicker game.

The idea is great, but everything else is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
It also went from an active dev team thats' very responsive to the game's first month of launch to now an abandoned fiasco with so many other issues left behind.

Never have I ever been disappointed in a video game and its development team. Such a huge waste of time and money.

Do not mind the recent Mixed reviews, and most of the Negative reviews.

This game is good, challenging, tactical. Most of those new players are just idiots and don't know how to scale up their own playstyle.
