I want to like this game but there's a lot of tedium preventing me from doing so.
The things that are fun are:
-Using ingredients to min/max each potion you make within the restrictions of your equipment.
-Socializing with the town members to get some story and new cards for haggling.
-Consistently building a new deck and using that to haggle for higher prices.

Things that are not fun:
-Loading screens between most every menu.
-Long winded dialog, especially for rote interactions.
-Too many ingredients and the acquisition is semi random, and the whole system feels cumbersome.
-The hero system is underwhelming and largely useless.
-Most often the custom deliveries pay less than just selling the potions.

There's more detail I could go into but I don't think that would be constructive. There's fun to be had, but it's in between a lot of fluff and it's not enough to keep me playing.

Early Access Review
This game is largely an iteration on the ideas from Slime Rancher 1 and this review will largely use that game as a reference point.
Same basic loop of exploring the world to gather slime and food types, bringing them back to the ranch, and profiting. Modifications to the overall game progression are generally welcome with roughly half(?) the content yet to come.
Visuals have been given a noticeable increase in quality. Level design uses more verticallity, nooks, and interconnected pathing. Though some better visual clarity would be appreciated for both game elements and path identification.
Some small bugs/inconsistencies do exist at this time, but nothing that was detrimental or stopped me from having fun.
All in all, a successful early access and I look forward to the team's continued progress.

Fun little project. Definitely unpolished but worth an hour of your time.

Great little beat 'em up. Lots of replayability if you want to get better or use a different character.
Absolutely fantastic soundtrack.

Run around the world, collect slimes, feed them and collect their poop for fun and profit. Repeat as you expand your ranch and find new areas and slimes to capture and force into indentured service. Would recommend.

A great boss rush game with great atmosphere aided by in large part by the soundtrack. Combat is quick and fairly tight though the controls take some getting used to as many of your options are chargable so action is on release. Not quite convinced about some of the hitboxes where dodging is concerned. Parry likewise took getting used to, most things are parry-able but timing can be odd and you have to hold the parry without taking action instead of pressing a button and being locked out for a split second. This can be especially frustrating when learing the melee attacks but makes you feel like a god once you get it down. They do have a light and sound to help with timing but I think you can also parry at last second if you watch the animations carefully, (though that's more anecdotal than anything.) Anyway that's enough nitpicking, grab a controller and go take down your jailers!

Great 2D metroidvania with a Dark Souls aesthetic. Controls well, good visuals, challenging gameplay, and an awesome OST. What more do you need?

Still the best numbered Final Fantasy to date. Good mechanics, involved story, great designs, world building, and characters, and fantastic music. No other Final Fantasy is as completely good across the board.

An excellent touhou-vania game. (Metroid/Castlevania 2D platformer with bullet hell combat.) Play as a bunny girl with a giant hammer and a fairy who shoots bullets, looking for your master's missing sister. Recruit help from local magic users after you convince them through a gratuitous use of blunt force.

Enjoyable and challenging gameplay, great level design, excellent music, and interesting boss fights.
Plenty of replay value with different ways and difficulties to go through through the game.

Only real downsides at this point are a couple irritations.
-Some of the enemies track inside your hitbox and aren't caught in the hurtbox of most of your hammers combo. Of course you can tough it out and kill them with other weapons or just jump.
-Some mechanics are not explained, (boss scaling for one), but mostly the experimentation to puzzle these systmes out is fun.

I heartily recommend this game. I only suggest you turn down the difficulty a notch or two to start until you learn the game, though you can change it by talking to a NPC in game.

The only game I've come back to year after year. Great to play for an evening on a path you haven't taken before, but don't remember enough from your last play through.
