This game really feels like a next generation MMO. There are valid criticisms of the pay model, yet still, at the end of the day the gameplay is very fun. The world itself feels very alive, reminds me how mmos are depicted in animes like sword art. The world dungeons and guild system are not new, but they are implemented in an immersive way that enhanced gameplay.

Try this game if you are a fan of fantasy, and want to play a new mmo. I dont think you'll regret trying it out for a bit. If you like it, I really belive this game has potential to last for decades,

Do you understand what is required to claim void itself? I have shattered the void for the might of Sol. And the power of the Earth. Viviat Potentia Terrae. I have raised armies of quadrillions, called for the wholesale destruction worlds, systems and wayward xenoform hypercivillizations. I have watched as my own worlds were reduced to ash, my populations forsaken amidst the countless stars, to be enslaved or vivisected by cruel alien minds.

The mind was not created to endure the vast expanse of deep space. Humanity was never meant to enter that black realm. Toil, adaptability, ingenuity, creativity, and stubborn resilience has carried mankind from stone and stick to fission and beyond.

I have led humanity into an age of legends, where families own planetary systems, and generations of humans never know the nature their ancestors tamed. Quintillions live on orbitals, constructed millennia ago by living ancestors. Blackholes have become bastions of civilization, home to Terrans who have more in common with Gandalf than Neil Armstrong.

Ad Astra, filii terrae. Terra Aeterna, Sol Invicta.

What will you do in the deep void of space? Can you claim the void itself, or will it shatter your worlds, hopes and dreams while reducing your fleets to so much quantum foam?

Do not buy this in its current state. Its not actually accessible. DLC entry is bugged. tried reinstalling, verifying, etc. There is no NPC or interactive withered hand for me, despite having beat Mohg and Radahn. Wait for the DLC to actually function before buying.

Make sure your drivers are updated, be prepared to die. Gameplay, combat mechanics, animation, music are amazing. You will notice performance issues. They will be fixed soon enough, dont let it stop you from enjoying the game. If you have anything less than a 3080, dont expect to play with ray tracing.

I've seen alot of people complaining about there being 6 different enemies yet I have seen skeletons, bandits, liches, wraiths, saurian, minotaurs, griphons, dallahans, chimera, hobgoblins, ogres, cyclops and harpies. This game will reward you for exploring and getting creative. Seems to me alot of these early reviews are people who rushed the game and missed most of it. Much like the previous game, you are able to miss content if you dont explore. Gamer today are quick to complain and give up.

Gameplay is pretty fun. You need to get past the first few missions, and level up a little to really appreciate what the combat is like, you dont get major movement abilities till 1-2 hours in. However, the game runs very poorly, despite having well over the recommended specs, I can only expect 60 fps, with drops to 30 and 20. This is without raytracing. Compared to, Red Dead Redemption, for example, which can sustain 90+ without issues, with drops to 50-60. The issue is not my hardware either. The game is installed on a Western Digital WD Black SN750. It has access to a 12GB RTX 3080 EVGA FTW3. It has access to 16 threads from an i7-10700KF, it has 32 GB of ram running at 3200 MHz. There really isnt an excuse for this game to run how it does. Feels like a very bad emulation.

Wait for this to be patched and the game to be optimized.

This is actually a next gen Grand Strategy game. It has some UI bugs, sure, but thats really nothing compared to whats going on here. If you appreciate hard sci fi (Expanse, Revelation Space, Three Body Problem), and you like games like Stellaris, or Europa Universalis, if you watch then you just need to buy this game. I can imagine doing an insane grand campaign with this game and stellaris. The most realistic early space age simulation ever. Complex simulation of the earth and solar system, and a fairly good abstraction of how nations might react to a realistic UFO alien crisis. There are no plucky humans, just harsh realities.

Most of the bad reviews are people who are trying to do thing to early. Its not easy to subjugate. As far as getting vassals to agree, its based on your comparative military power. AKA, these people are not actually as strong as they would like to think, and their vassals can easily break free, and deny them holdings. The system surely can be improved, but just because its not easy doesnt make it bad. This seems to be a case of madcuzbad. My empire is doing quite well. Insurrection get crushed. If you think that just because you "won the war" that means they have to bend over, you must have never read a single history book. Ask Rome how easy it is to keep subjects in check. Let alone different star systems. This seems to be pretty accurate.

Worldbox is the most advanced god game out there. Don't let the pixel art fool you, there is complexity here. You have no limits on your power, create and destroy without cost. Create storms, rend the land with earthquakes. Assign the dry land a biome, be that a dense jungle, or arid savannah. You can even curse the earth, so that the souls of the slain are trapped, cursed to wander the land as a vengeful wraith.

These souls, the races in the game are one of the core features. Spawn a group of humans, orcs, dwarves or elves. They will spawn, knowing nothing at all about the land you have made. As the grow and expand, they develop culture and research technologies to help them survive. Will you help them grow into a High Renaissance trade civilization? Or will they be unable to unite, due to a lack of resources and marauding demons. Watch as thousands of years of history lay out before you. Greedy dwarf kings waging unjust wars, intrepid human explorers setting sail for the first time in 800 years, since the Collapse. What will they find? Untouched paradise, or the husked out ruins of a once great Elven Kingdom. 2 Immortal kings, plotting against each other for thousands of years. All scenarios I have witnessed in my own kingdoms.

If you dont want to create your own maps, you will be able to download maps other people make. Some come with deep lore and history, if you care for that. I've used this for world building and writing. Its a living drawing. If you like fantasy, RTS and 4X games, this game is something you have to play. There are mods, which are easy to install as well, allowing for some interesting changes, like adding traits, or giving powerful items to a few favorites, or an entire kingdom.
