2023 edit: This is still the BEST soundtrack release I have ever purchased on Steam, hands down, no contest. It ticks ever box you want a release to have: correct tagging information (you don't need to fix anything), it's got a lossless version, and the soundtrack isn't just a subset of the tracks currently available in the final game.

Tracks verified to be different via Bit Comparison extension in foobar2000. I've yet to see a fake lossless rip but it's good to know. Reminder that whether I recommend a soundtrack is not based on if I like it; it's based on if it's a lossless version of the soundtrack and further if it's been provided in a way that doesn't require the customer to fix a bunch of stuff. It's a game soundtrack after all, you're obviously buying it because you liked the music in the game itself, that's already a given.

I must admit I didn't like the arrangements of the Nitronic Rush soundtrack. At all. I really wish that had a FLAC release, but the last 3 tracks added to Nitronic Rush were never even released for MP3 download as far as I can tell; even worse is that unless you've already downloaded the Nitronic Rush soundtrack you'll have to jump through hoops to get it now because Torcht (Jordan Hemenway) didn't upload it for download on Bandcamp: it was instead linked to his website for download from the Bandcamp page, that link of which no longer hosts the file.

I doubt I will ever get the high quality versions to the original concept games soundtrack, but I can hope.

2022 Edit: I'm aware of the fact that DigiPen owns the rights to everything for Nitronic Rush which is why we don't have any exact ports into Distance (be it music, the original car, or the announcer aside from it no longer being fitting). But it's a shame that the final tracks for the original game were never made available for download.
