If you want to get into monster hunter, just get Monster Hunter World/Iceborn.

The game is layered with bugs and design flaws, so Ill go through some of them:

They reworked the multiplayer so that joining your friends is multiple steps too long, with the added bonus you can't join someones quest unless you have beaten said quest yourself.

Theres more escort and dialog than actual gameplay for the first 30hrs (I roughly estimate at 70%/30% ratio) with a large portion of it being unskippable

Monsters are a weird balance where they aren't easy enough for casual/new people to enjoy but also aren't hard enough you feel any sort of accomplishment beating them, but rather just mildly frustrated that you've bounced off the same wall several times in a few seconds.

I would say the cinematics are good except I played on launch and there was a major issue with artifacting and black flying triangles go across the screen, so I genuinely couldn't tell you if the Ray Dau introduction was cool or not.

They decided to make the game another open world game with other players running around like destiny, except for the part where players are seperated from the open world and in order to get more than one person, you need to send an "Enviorment Link".

The combat is actually really nice. It may need a little refinement but overall pretty good and may just take a little practice.

I hope this review helps someone make a decision on getting this game or not. I genuinely wish the best for this game, but at the moment they've released a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that leaves me unsatisfied at almost every turn.

A little weird controls at first, but genuinely well made oldschool MMO

I think this is a very fun and well made adventure/ survival game. Some bugs need to be fixed with each new update (usually fix previous bugs) with above average frequency in updates.
