Hazelight Studios don't get enough praise. Their releases are not only games, but actual ART. As a co-op fan, I loved A way out and It takes two and highly recommend them. Do yourself a favour and buy those two as well if you enjoyed Split Fiction. In a world where most companies in the industry implement new ways to skin their communities, Hazelight Studios allows you to buy one copy of their co-op games and invite a friend to play for free. And they don't even go for the full release standard price (60-70$), but like a discounted version (45-50$). Split fiction follows the same formula as It takes two, but takes it up a notch, which is not a bad thing in my opinion. Faster, Longer, brighter. Without spoiling anything, it's an awesome journey that the game takes you on. Invite a friend and enjoy. GOTY material.

Great Early Access, plenty of content and whilst not perfect it makes D4 look like a joke. Keep up the good work GGG.

Fair review

I have played over 80 hours and I will attempt to give a fair review that tries to picture the pros and cons, not only "Nexon game bad" like most reviews out there. This review will try to picture the state of the game at 14 July 2024.

Pros:
- The game is FREE and in the current state, you can get everything in the game without spending RL money (besides cosmetics, battle pass, boosters)
- Gameplay is incredibly satisfying, fast paced, I find myself losing track of time.
- The grappling hook is one of the features that add a new dimension to the game, a fresh take in the looter shooter genre. It can affect the pace tremendously. You can grapple walls to move around, grapple to an enemy and melee to knock it down, you can grapple on to a boss's damaged armour piece to try and break it.
- Activities are quite varied (especially for a day 1 release): different types of missions, surviving waves of monsters, capture points, boss battles (colossus intercepts), etc.
- There are a total of 14 playable characters in the game (some of them with ultimate version aka better stats) that you can "craft" after you farm for their required mats. The game gives you 3 free characters through it's progression. Each character feels quite unique. You should find decent options to match your preferred style of play. More characters coming on the way.
- Mod System: This is a great feature that affects both characters and weapons. It provides options to make different builds that fit your play style. You can easily spend hours creating your dream build.
- Built in wiki under "Access Info" menu (press J - then "Access Info"). Easily one of the best things in a looter shooter with tons of mats that would usually make you waste a lot of time in a browser figuring out where to farm what.

Cons:
- The game is free as I said above BUT if you do want to pay, it is extremely expensive compared to other games (yes, it's Nexon)
- Quality of Life flaws, the "Access Info" section is really great for locating and planing what to farm and grind BUT the game does not make that known to you unless you check each tab in the menu.
- Story was ok, turned out how I expected it to. The voice acting is ok, however lip sync is off because the voice is meant to be Korean (kind of sub vs dub for anime).

Personal opinion:
- You can speed up your progression by buying from the store such as the Ultimate Descendants that will probably take days if not weeks to farm. But if you get everything you want that way, why would you play a PVE looter shooter?
- Despite some flaws, I honestly think this game is great and worth a shot. Give it a try and form your own opinion. I recommend this game based on my experience shared above.

In this age of tainted gaming industry, where the vast majority only care about the financial gains and they try to shove garbage down your throat and prey on you, I found this gem... and it totally blew my mind. So much care and attention put into it and to top it all, it's free. 10/10 beautiful game. The art, the Music... also it's short and sweet. You must try this!

Great to play with friends!

IMHO this is definitely the best early access game in years. Not without it's flaws, but still so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great overall and on top of that it also comes with a fair price. Most people expected this game to be a meme. Turns out the game not only is as real as real can get, but also super detailed, well optimised and quite compelling. Also most people say it's "pokemon with guns"... a statement that is not accurate. This is a survival game that has some cute companions that resemble the pokemons. Personally, I love survival/crafting games and adding the companions to the mix provides so much fun. I have played ARK for thousands of hours and even if at a first glance these games don't seem to have too much in common, they actually do and this game already surpassed ARK in many areas. I also have to mention what a difference in quality and optimisation between Palworld and ARK SA. I don't just recommend this game, I highly recommend it. Congrats Pocketpair and keep up the good work.

Total disaster. There are no positives about this. Start patching, Wildcard. I'll give it another shot in 3 months.

I'm sorry that Wayfinder as a MMO didn't work out. And yes, Digital Extremes is scum. But all the hate that DE deserves and the review bombing goes towards Airship Syndicate (the dev team), and that's a mistake Imho. I know it sounds bad, but honestly, having a single player/coop game is much better than having no game. And it shows character and care for the players that they didn't just dump the game. They re-worked the game from a MMO into a standard game with co-op and they are financing this out of their own pocket. I understand that Wayfinder as a MMO was not sustainable and I commend the devs for making the best out of a bad situation.
In fact, I wish WildStar devs had the balls to do this.

Best of luck, Airship Syndicate. I hope your efforts help you turn this L into a big W.
