While I would not recommend this game for everyone, I would recommend it for those who don't care too much about story and primarily care about gameplay.

While it is not the best entry in the series, it's an enjoyable yet fair Mechwarrior experience. It definitely plays much more arcade-y than its predecessors, but that's neither a good thing or a bad thing, just different. While the story is very meh and the C-Bills flow too generously, the combat feels really good overall. The final several missions offer a substantial difficulty spike due to the sheer numbers thrown at you, but the last mission makes it all worth it.

Definitely a fun time-killing game when played with friends. Some maps can be a bit frustrating but overall it's a solid, all-around just fun game overall.

Is this the best game ever created? Not even close.

Is it great fun for short stints of time? You bet.

Don't buy at full price. Get it on sale, get a few friends together, and enjoy some of the epic battles this game will throw at you.

The large volume of DLC is a bit annoying but almost completely unnecessary to enjoy this game. That said, this is a fantastic city-building sim that always ends up being one of those games you can sink an hour in to... or two hours... or ten hours...

Wait, it's morning ALREADY?!?

Probably one of the best investments in a game I've ever made. With a constantly growing Steam Workshop, the possibilities are endless. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes party games or even just a few hours relaxing with friends.

This game is not an RPG, nor a hack-and-slash. It is a pure bullet hell game, with RPG elements tacked on.

If you're not a fan of bullet hell games, avoid this one. If you like bullet hell games, you might find some enjoyment here.

Talisman is a solid board game that's great for party night. You can also play it against AI, though it's a bit awkward at times. And perhaps the biggest plus for me, you can heavily customize your experience as well, choosing victory conditions, house rules, etc.

With lots of characters and customizable rules to choose from, it's definitely worth a look, if you like these sorts of games.

It's the first stealth-based game that I've actually enjoyed, and I'm not even done with it yet. I can't quite put my finger on just why I enjoy it, but there's a certain charm to the game. With an engaging storyline and moments of sheer badassery, this game is an easy thumbs up for me. I highly recommend it to all gamers.

Update 10/21/16: The below review was made before Horde mode and the release of the Team JNPR DLC. I will be revsiting this game and review later to re-evaluate. Horde mode could change my review from a tentative recommend to a full-on recommendation, but we'll see. Consider me cautiously optimistic right now.

Original review:

First off, I really do like this game, and I REALLY love the soundtrack. It got me into the series, which I enjoy as well. But for $25, I expect a lot more replayability in a game, and I'm just not getting it here. If more is added at the same base price, or if the price is lowered, I would recommend this game without hesitation. In its current state, wait for it to go on sale for $15 or lower. Definitely snatch it up if it goes down to $10.

As it stands now though? Honestly, I want to give it a thumbs sideways in its current state. It's a great start, just... it's not enough at this price point. I recommend this game, but ONLY if it's on sale, or if they add more content. Or preferably both.

Thea: The Awakening is a solid turn-based strategy game for people looking for a single player experience. It's a nice, refreshing change of pace from the games I normally frequent. The card game fight mode takes a bit of getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, there's a lot to like about this game.

I highly recommend this game for strategy gaming fans looking for a change of pace in their routine. I also recommend it as an entry into the strategy genre, as the easier game modes can be played at a very relaxed and stress-free pace.
