This game is dead, completely dead. Go into any casual lobby and you'll find it filled to the brim with bots. The only way to find half decent games is in the community servers, even then you'll find it hard to find full lobbies. TF2 is one of my all time favorite games, but it isn't alive anymore. There is no reviving TF2 either, heavy maintenance will have to be done to get the game into a playable state. Removing all the bots, and hackers from the game will prove to be a timely process, and even if it is done there is no guarantee the player base will come back. Most of the players grew up already, I played the game when I was younger so I'm still only 18 at the writing of this but the rest of the players are likely in their 20's to even 40's. They're grown up now, have families, and likely don't play games anymore. In order for tf2 to reach a fraction of its glory days it will have to attract the younger audience that play games right now. But what will tf2 have to offer to the younger generation? Countless games have come out since the fall of tf2, and to be honest, even if the game wasn't dead, it doesn't have a lot to offer besides nostalgia. And the younger generation won't even have the nostalgic appeal having never played the game. I will never forget TF2, it was my very first game that I played on the PC. I still remember learning to rocket jump so I could market garden people like Muselk, and spending countless hours in jump academy servers to practice. I spent much time in trading servers, trying to trade my way up to my very first unusual. I have so much nostalgia when I launched the game back up, looking at all my items, and hats, seeing if I could still rocket jump (I can't anymore haha). It pains me to say this but I'll repeat myself, the game is dead, and has been for a while, if you are looking to play it right now you are in for a horrible experience. I love this game, I really do, that is why I vow to never open it again, so my fond memories of the game don't get over taken by the horrid state it is in now. Farewell TF2, you will be missed.
