Overall: Mount, and Blade is a extremely fun, and addictive game. The combat is fun, and challenging. For example a player who is armed with a sword, and shield is going doesn't need to be as good as the player who runs in to battle with a battle axe. This is due to the fact that there are four main attack directions, and while the shield covers all four of them, if you only have a weapon in your hand you need to block each one of those directions individually. Example: I swing my sword in a right my opponent if he does not have a shield must guard his left side or be hit.
Another aspect of the game that I a a fan of (Singleplayer, or if you purchase the Napoleonic wars DLC you will have access to commander battles.) is the fact that you are able to command your troops, and fight alongside them. However, it should be noted that while the combat, AI can be dangerous in large numbers, the battle AI is mostly incompetant, emphasis on mostly. Mount, and Blade is my favorite game on steam.
