So back when I had ~70 hours, I wrote a review for this game. Now that I know ALOT more about this game, I think it's time I write another.

Now that I have a bit more hours, I think I can more accurately review this game.

GOOD AND THE BAD

VRChat is an amazing game where you can meet many types of people. Thanks to UDON, (a system to create games in vrc) there are plenty of fun amazing worlds to play. Although I praise this game a bunch: there are some MAJOR flaws.

VRChat not well made. This game will always find a way to bug out; from chugging along at 10fps because you opened STEAMVR to not loading avatars and causing you to restart. This game has so many issues, its unreal.

There is a bug that will literally cause player voices to not work. You could be chatting with your friends, hear a click (like plugging in an aux) and you cant hear anyone anymore.

Although this game can't run for ♥♥♥♥: I cannot help but recommend this game.
Being able to actually hang out your friends from all over the world is liberating. This is completely different than something like Discord calls, flatscreen games or even RecRoom. I think it has something to do with the fact that you can use a humaniod avatar.

When all of your homies strap on a headset and hop in this game, it's just a fun time all around.

Besides the preformance issues, (which are huge) another lead factor to why some people might not enjoy this game would be some of the community. In this game there is a ranking system, (ranks in a social game is silly btw) Visitor, New User, User, Known & Trusted.

ROLES

Here is a brief summery of each role.


VISITOR: Mainly flatscreen gamers who have recently starting playing VRC. This rank will consist of Children, Users with annoying avatars, Quest kids, absolutely TOXIC individuals, beatboxers or people who sing in vrc & lastly, nice VRC loving people.

NEW USER: This player has figured out how to sync their account to VRC and has gotten this role! You'll see players who have sub 60 hours in this game, majority of them are Children, newish Quest users, wholesome people & people who are really fun to talk to.

USER: People who have user role are people with ~60-500+ hours in the game, you may also find some Known or Trusted users appearing as a normal user. Lots of quest users (majority is non toxic), Some Children & will be the highest rank you'll find most kids, people who may not have a vr headset but are super excited for when they eventually do get them, normal players, some full body users (rare, most are known and trusted), people hoping to get into the dark side of vrc, the start of some eboys & egirls careers, nice users who are fun to talk to.

KNOWN: Known ranks are probably the nicest/ most welcoming players of the VRC community. They have felt the hardships of the previous ranks and pushed through and made it to known. Most of these players have the 500 hour mark and will stay this rank for a long time. With this rank you will find, super-nice people, people who just want to hang out and get drunk, ethots & eboys, normal players who have alot of hours who just want to talk and hang out, people who have started making avatars, users who are more than 30 years old (more prevalent in the higher ranks), users who you wouldn't expect to be fun to hang out with, vrchat youtubers & people who bought vrc+.


TRUSTED: This is where the people with the most hours/ made a crazy amount of avatars and worlds will be. Though some of these people can be fun to hang out with: that is not always the case. These people have played vrchat for so much time that they know things that others would not even guess. Here you will find, content creators, streamers, super nice people, drunkards, erp locals, edgy users, mirror addicts, avatar makers, world creators, some nice players who just want people to experience the good of vrchat, people who think they're above the law because they're trusted rank ->, crashers, toxic people, bigots & ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Althought this game has so many short-comings, and I mean alot. This game is so addicting because it allows people who maybe don't have the best real life or people who want to hang out with their friends face to face to do it all inside of one game.

Maybe this game runs like ♥♥♥♥, maybe it doesn't matter that even if you have a RTX 3090 you'll still get 20 frames in some worlds. The reason why this game is so popular is that it allows people to have fun in a different way than they're used to.

Maybe its for the best, maybe its for the worst. But VRC is here to connect us apes together.
