Going into the Outer Wilds, I expected nothing and only knew that it sounds like it's an Outer Worlds knockoff. Instead of nothing, what I got was probably one of the best games I'll ever play.

If you like space, puzzles, great stories, music or simply roasting a marshmellow over a fire, you'll love this game.

The Outer Wilds is a wildldy unique game that can feel like a big playground of random ideas at times, because that's what it is at it's core.

Still, the game manages to build a fascinating world that looks absolutely stunning. All while spinning a wonderful story into this world. A story of almost infinite power that still, ultimately left the wielder powerless. The player, in the same vein will go from feeling like some form of chosen one, to feeling like nothing more but a speck dust tossed about by the currents of the universe. You go from feeling like you're space Sherlock Holmes to feeling like you're Jar Jar Binks and somebody fried your brain.

This game's world is a massive puzzle that manages to both fuel an endless curiosity as well as existential dread of cosmic horrors - and just like that many moments, sights and even pieces of music will shift from being utterly terrifying, to being beautiful to being moments of mere somber melancholy.

The Outer Wilds is a game of incredible uniqueness, but also a game that is incredibly hard to talk about without spoiling things, this goes even for basic game mechanics, and it is a game that should not be spoiled. It is one hell of a ride that I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone.

So if you're contemplating whether to play this - just do it.
