There's stuff here to make for a really fun game, but it's also in dire need of so many QoL fixes. If you can look past the jank, it's a great sandbox game that gives you a lot of tools for mayhem. It helps that you're free to go to most every place and you're not hurt by ignoring the main missions.
Otherwise, if you're like me, you'll instead be thinking about the numerous problems with the game.
  • Why is Aiming Down Sights a skill you have to unlock? It doesn't help that they've given you a poor reticle that makes it hard to aim with precision.
  • Why can you go from Parachute-to-Grapple, but Wingsuit-to-Grapple is a skill you have to unlock? It takes a while to unlock it too so before then, you have hours of awkward phases in maneuverability. It just feels like a basic mechanic that should already be there instead of being gated by hours of gameplay.
  • Why does the Parachute have limited aiming so you have to stow it away just so you can grapple behind you? It's an extra step of annoyance that becomes even more prevalent when you're trying to find that helicopter out of view.
  • Why does every vehicle with a weapon fight against your aim? It makes Helicopters the worst thing to pilot. Not just for shooting - that's already painful since moving back and forth moves your reticle - but it also makes turning difficult. It's feels as though Helicopters are still missing a basic function for mobility.
And there's so many other things that get in the way of my enjoyment. I'm very bitter about this.

I got the game purely for its art style, but I soon found myself caught within the twisting thrills of its story.
With an intriguing world and character - the Fellow Family and Pointer Family - its easy to find yourself wondering about the various possibilities of the mystery. What's great is that you're tested on your deductive abilities due to the game's multi-multiple choice questions. You'll have to pair up the correct clues with the correct reasoning to reach the truth. There's something satisfying about knowing exactly what's happening before you're even prompted -- I do love that chime.
One particular point that I quite liked is finding out more about the victim. The characters are caricatures, often bearing exaggerated personalities, and it's riveting to find out about Freya's character as well as what laid beneath. It's a contrary depth that sets her apart.
As others might have stated however, the ending is this game's weakest point. I believe some clues aren't foreshadowed well enough, and I really would've loved some extra scenes to give closure with Freya. Still, I'd like to say it doesn't hinder the overall experience. If anything, I'm excited for the next game and to find clues about questions unanswered.

Saw it on Game Grumps. I think the game is fine; great visuals, nice music and I like the skill progression through Levels, Flowers and Potions. There's encouragement to try out different builds and mix different skills together. At the time of writing this, however, I can't say the balancing is very good.
It's very clear that some skills are supremely better than others. Typically, you'll be looking for consistent High Damage and AoE Skills, and the best of these are with the Succubus and Big Breasts Potion. Add in a simple synergy of acquiring a Skill that improves the size of AoE, and you can breeze through the game. Looking towards the Bouquet Flowers, Cactus (Take Half Damage) and Anemone (25% Dodge Chance) reign as king -- they're practically mandatory for all builds. The balancing is not good. With such overwhelmingly strong options, experimentation becomes less enticing.
Regardless, I do recommend the game. It's really cheap and good for a couple hours of fun. As others have stated, the Art and Visuals are fantastic so even just committing to a Potion to unlock new art is satisfying. Adding to that, I have hope that balancing can be improved in the future -- some simple tweaking to the numbers would be fine enough.
And if I could selfishly request, more variety of Enemies Waves, plus a higher Stage Count (or Endless Mode) would be nice.

TL;DR Fun game if you like stylishly stringing combos together, but expect some jank.
If you're a fan of Stylish Action (much like Devil May Cry, Bayonetta and Nier) then I wholly recommend it. Games like these are a rarity and it delivers on that fast-paced action well. Characters have developed move lists with Charged and Just Attacks complete with references (Dante's Trick, Vergil's Judgment Cut, etc.). Adding to, you have a lot of freedom in how you string these together. A lot of moves can cancel into each other and you always have Dash and Jump to add into the list of cancel options. They even have their own version of Enemy Step for added air combo shenanigans.
I do, however, have to address the "jank" that the game comes with. It's obvious that it's trying to emulate DMC, but it doesn't make use of Directional Inputs (despite having Lock-On which, in my opinion, doesn't do much). Due to this, you're met with awkward inputs for certain moves since it relies a lot on either Delays or Simultaneous Inputs.
For example, the moves Full Commit and Briefcase Shredder are both done by delaying Heavy Attack after a Light - the difference is in how much you delay. You can imagine how inconsistent it can be during a hectic fight and it's thoroughly frustrating.
Another issue is the aforementioned Simultaneous Inputs. These typically aren't a problem, but (to my knowledge) there's barely an Input Buffer for Straight and Straight Down (the teleport move). I don't know why it's these specific moves that have this issue. The other moves seem to be fine. Honestly, it's a shame since that means forgoing one of your most flexible movement options.
I have a lot of other minor gripes with the game from the out-of-place stealth sequences, the final boss being gimmicky, the dodge animation being unclear on the length of invulnerability frames, the keyboard support being awkward and a couple more. I'm talking a lot of smack, but in all honesty, I do truly enjoy the game. If anything, this really is just an outline of what to expect so you can be prepared. And if you can look past all of that, it's another good addition to the Stylish Action genre.

It can feel all over the place and the pacing in particular can be a bit abrupt, but honestly, the game as a whole is a great treat! There's a good mix of tenderness and whimsical comedy and it's all glued together quite nicely with its presentation, characters and heart. In my experience, it's rare to see a VN with so much to enjoy and the animated sequences are especially stellar!

Surprisingly fun. I didn't think much of it, but I found myself stuck in the lab trying out combos. I also didn't expect the online to work and since it's GGPO, connections are pretty smooth despite distance (from my small experience at least).
There are a couple of bugs and some jank, but those can always be patched out in the future.

Early Access Review
Real damn good game, especially with friends. I'm still very surprised at how well this game did considering they're switching from 2D to 3D since the first one, but damn, did they do it well. Adding to that, the game is still getting a bunch of updates with detailed Patch Notes that tell us what was changed and why. There's also the big bonus with the creators really listening to the players so we can influence the game's direction too.
