I really wanted to like the game and anticipated playing it (it was in my library for quite some time, but then life happened), but I have to be blunt: the story ruined everything. The first 'twist' was predictable, the reason for it ridiculous at best and some story beats later had no emotional impact whatsoever. The characters are bland and one-dimensional with no growth. Some events get undone, making the not impactful story even worse.

Beautiful graphics and good combat with unused potential, but the bad story and dialogues overshadow everything.

A nice and short, wholesome game. The tasks are kind of repetetive, but the overall story and atmosphere is cozy and charming.

I really liked Vampyr.
Its setting, music, atmosphere are dark and well crafted and the approach to vampire lore, origins and politics are really well translated to a more "modern" take. Though there are some things you should expect when buying it:

• This game is mostly dialogue driven, you'll talk a lot. And by a lot, I mean it. Most conversations don't revolve around the main plot, but add to the atmosphere of the game.
  
• Your desicions matter and you don't know the outcome of them if you haven't seen any walkthrough or Let's Play. And they may not even turn out the way you think they would.
  
• The combat mechanics are standard Action RPG, I'd say. Nothing out of the ordinary and easy to learn.

Then again, I like it when I can talk to NPCs and learn about them, their own stories and backgrounds.

Biggest plus for me was graphics, setting and music worked so well together.
Biggest minus was the use of the Raleway font in dialogues. It really bothered me somehow.

Had fun, would recommend it.

Ich will gar ♥♥♥♥♥ viel schreiben außer: Wer 'story-driven' Games liebt, wird hier ♥♥♥♥♥ enttäuscht. Jede einzelne Minute hat tierisch viel Spaß gemacht und ich hoffe, es geht irgendwann weiter! Klare Empfehlung.

This game is amazing - and was worth every cent.
I started the game, took a little break to do some other stuff for an hour and continued right off where I left... only to play through it all.

I love games like this! You don't need fancy spells, action based combat or overly realistic graphics - you just need a good story, and this game has one. Couldn't stop playing until I knew what was happening and how everything turns out.

Hope to see more games like this :3
