To be honest, this is an amazing game in its core, easy to get into but hard to master and will require you to actually be extremely aware of everything that happens in the battlefield, not just your immediate surroundings.

A staggering amount of vehicles available from prop planes, fighter jets, pre-war tanks to modern day main battle tanks, and from small PT boats to massive battleships from all nations that were in some shape or form involved in the war.

Game modes can cater for a lot of people, from fast paced and easy Arcade, slow and steady, patience consuming Realistic, and Simulator, which will actually put you into the view of either the pilot or tank commander.

Damage mechanics are as realistic as it can possibly get (even more so if Gaijin will just fix optics armor on tanks and BS no damage explosions on planes, at least tank shells are no longer 1 pixel big but their new volumetric armor system is buggy as all hell).

Also, no Pay-to-Win mechanics (for now at least)

Now for the reason I don't recommend playing the game.

The game is extremely grindy. "But that's common for games of this type", even more so here. If you buy a new, non-premium ground vehicle, you don't get Parts (which allows you to repair damaged modules on your tank like the engine, cannon breech, etc) and FPE (which allows you extinguish fires if you get hit in the engine) which makes the first handful of games with your new toy a horrible experience.

Gaijin's way of balancing vehicles is through repair costs (though a battle rating adjustment will happen every now and then). An average game without premium time or income boosters will net you close to 5-10k Silver Lions (the grindable currency), regardless of tier, even more so if you perform well. Average repair costs for vehicles in game reach 5k near the mid-high tiers, reaches up to 10k for the over-performers, and even higher for some.
