This game was very fun! The exploration felt a little basic sometimes, for example if you give the option of 2 forking paths and 1 immediately ends with a dead end and a chest, that's not really exploring. The majority of the game avoids this though, especially the end areas!
I enjoyed the combat too, even though the strategy when facing newer bosses felt like spamming the parry button until you learn how many swings in a string happen, and also that for most attacks, the jump parry is very strong. The bosses are great and I think I only had real problems with maybe 2 mini bosses. I understand some players struggled with the final few bosses but I believe that I had figured the combat out by then, and honestly felt like I rolled through the last few areas making bosses feel tight but not unfair. I also used the bow a lot, the bow is a good tool for creating space or allowing you to heal. An issue I noticed that I'm sure compounded frustration for many players is the run back to certain fights, they're not challenging and often just oddly long. I also noticed that the early bosses seem to discourage dashing in with the very wide hitboxes that appear disjointed sometimes. This may prevent people from outright using the dash which they shouldn't.
The hub area is nice, it often has slight progression and world building moments which can feel rewarding. These are done well but to call them innovative or groundbreaking may be a stretch. It does give you the ability to feel like an absentee father so that's either motivation to return to the hub or motivation to ignore the hub I guess. I missed out on a few achievements that, based on discussions, I am not the only one. Kind of "how would you know to do that blind?" type moments.
I would recommend this game, honestly thought it was a very well done game with slight issues. Very insightful philosophy sometimes, the take on the principles of Taoism was my favorite. Played it baked, got it on sale for $20 USD and would give it 4/5 or whatever.

It was really good, made me sad when it was over.

In my last match I got bombed by artillery through the wall and like 2 ceilings and also got killed by a bot with a flamethrower from a mile away. Also the Hatchet is jank as ♥♥♥♥.

Better than Lisa the Painful, I can't believe Brad dies at the end of Suits. Truly it was hinted he was a Joy addict but man, what a game. Definately worth 10$ Austin Joegephigasdnpifgjho[se\gjv[p'faghaer
