I've seen that a lot of negative reviews of this game are due to technical issues, and that's completely valid, but such a shame. So get this and install it before you start playing to fix all of the major issues.

This is the only game I was truly terrified of when I was little, and so it felt amazing to beat on permadeath.
Zombi is just genuinely such a great horror game, with some jank and odd parts for sure. I understand the story, but it overall wasn't the main focus. The guns are also kinda cursed, but I do love that you're really incentivized to use them instead of hoarding ammo. Don't do that if you play this game so you can level skills with weapons. The atmosphere and the stress you will feel playing this game are genuinely so hard to come by nowadays. It's really worth a shot if you love horror games.
