Basically abandonware. No anticheat support - everyone's aimbotting + sniping. It really sucks there's no other alternative to CoD but this is the world y'all created by buying the "new" one every year, same as last years.

This is not Frostpunk 1. Not even close. Not even the same genre. If you're looking for that, look elsewhere. There are a ton of resource-management colony sims that try to recapture the magic of 1 and feel more like 1 than this.

It's not a bad game, but if you're expecting Frostpunk 1, just play Frostpunk 1. If you're okay with some changes, still play Frostpunk 1. If you're okay with significant changes, I'd still say play Frostpunk 1. If you want an entirely different game that only superficially resembles Frostpunk 1, then MAYBE you could try 2.

This is less of a city builder with resource management being of dire importance and more of a 4X with resource management just kind of being there. The tech tree is deeper, but feels hollow. The civics tree is where the game has been overhauled and focused on the most, with voting and negotiation taking the forefront of the new playstyle. As many others have pointed out, this feels more like a diplomacy game with light 4x elements.

I'm not recommending this game. Not because it's not a good game, or that I don't trust 11bit to continue refining it into something even better, but because it's not even remotely similar to the game I fell in love with. Imagine playing Call of Duty and then CoD2 comes out and it's a clicker/idler game. You'd be confused. I'm confused. I think they had a vision for Frostpunk 2 that got so bogged down in the details that they just forgot to make it anything resembling the first.

I fully expect to sink a lot of hours into it, and as a standalone game I could recommend it, but as a sequel to 1? No, no chance.

I really wish there was more to this, but the style and the vibe is just perfect. I'd do anything for this to be an actual game, or to give me the ability to put down more than just buildings and a few props, but I still love it even as an art project.

An extremely mediocre platformer - who the f wants to play a platformer in 2024?
The maps are super linear, broken up only by a collection of obvious red herrings that rarely offer anything other than a "god this map sucks" comment or two.
The stagger mechanic is dumb and makes combat slow and clunky unless you're approaching each fight exactly as the game intends.
I only bought it because it was 50% off and honestly I feel like I overpaid for what basically amounts to a Mario game from the 90s gameplay-wise.

Did you like Max Payne?
Do you have even the slightest of fond memories of RoboCop?
Are you a Peter Weller fan?
Do you like shooting people in the ♥♥♥♥? Like, LOTS of people?

Honestly this is one of the best SP-FPS I've played in recent memory. These cats knocked it out of the park. Holy crap. My ONLY complaint is that Detroit never looked so clean and nice in real life.

Dark Souls + Sim City.
I hope you like losing.

But for real, it's brutally difficult even at easy difficulty and there's actually very little variation between the difficulty levels - the game really wants you to follow exactly what it wants you to do and doesn't really offer you a lot of flexibility otherwise.

But, it really sets an unfair standard to other city builders. It's got a lot of polish, a lot of character, great replayability and very straightforward mechanics.

I'm conflicted because I wish this game were more approachable to people who like city-builders and not this specific type of resource-scarcity-management game, but if it were more approachable it wouldn't be as good. Maybe. I dunno. I got the ultramarathon extreme achievement but I didn't feel like it was much harder than just learning the basics of the game.
