After skipping most side quests and just focusing on the main missions, with the only knowledge of the game from beforehand being that you can repeat the last mission however many times you want, I can honestly say im incredibly happy with my time played and can see why it got the ratings it did, the story was interesting and voice acting was pretty solid too.

now i didn't share any issues that some have had, on latest drivers with a 6700k and 2080 super i was getting consistent 80+ fps with a mix of high/ultra at 3440x1440p, however obviously it is an issue for some and needs solving sooner rather than later as its a pity some cant play the game through no fault of their own.

summary - Great game, maybe wait a few weeks for some patches to come out to iron out potential performance issues
quick psa for some, maybe something more constructive than review bombing would be properly reporting your issues to the devs :)

Whilst not having any hours in the steam version i have over 5000 hours in the origional version as i have played on and off since launch, and have felt that recently a lot of people have been turned away from the game due to recent updates focused on making the game more balanced pvp wise.

Now firstly i will adress the in-game shop, the main opinion of people who havent played the game is that BDO is very pay to win, i would disagree mostly with a few items in a bit of a grey area, the costumes CAN be sold on the marketplace usually for the rate of £1 = 1 million silver in game, which is nothing really ad this game does cap how much you can sell per week and you can earn the same 20m that the costume sells for in around an hour when you reach mid game, however there is one item in particular, as of writing this there is an item called artisans memories, which late game is used to reduce the time it takes to gain back max durability on your boss armor. for every time you fail to upgrade your item it goes down by 5/10 max durability depending on its current level, and you have to restore it with memory fragments which give you back 1 max durability every fragment, with each fragment costing around 750k, to fully restore a item from 20 durability it costs 60m to restore it to 100, however with artisan memories it will only take 15m at the cost of £10 worth of fragments, i personally only consider this pay for convinience as its not game breaking in any way, and since the enchant system is all luck based anyway it doesnt bother me.

with that covered ill move on, now whilst i am not at end game i have a reasonable experience with both PvE and PvP and life skills, and can say that this game has the most involved, fun and rewarding combat system i have ever played in an MMO, and with soon to be 16 classes with all having different abilities late game it there is literally something for everyone, I have had experience in 3 classes mainly, these being Wizard, Dark Knight and Lahn, and i have enjoyed each class in a different way, and with all the changes they are making at the moment i can see each class becoming viable to play within the next few months, whereas previously if you didnt play a mystic you would basically insta-lose a 1v1, having played both the Korean and EU BDO I can definately see support for this game spanning 5 years or more, with large regions and a new class being released every 6 months or so, i can honestly say I dont think ill get bored of this game even after 2 years of playing it, the gearing system however can be a bit of a pain, mostly relying on you either putting in rather large pre-orders on items to get your best in slot or working your way up actually enchanting it, I personally am enchanting my gear as I find it enjoyable.

Now with life skills you have 10 in total, whilst none are mandatory and have no effect on the game if you choose not to do them, i would highly reccomend using even 1 character as a life skilling mule, as you can make a tonne of money from them late game once you have leveled them up to a decent level, i personally enjoy the trading aspect and having to network your way around the map and calculating various ways you can make the most money, a lot of lifeskills also rely on you exploring the world as the more you discover the more energy you have to play with, and the more quests the do, the more of the map network you can unlock with contribution points.

If i am honest this is not a game i would reccomend if you are a solo player as most of the endgame PvP wise is mostly focused on guild related large scale PvP, however if you dont mind contributing to a group of either friends or people you meet and end up joining a guild with then i would highly reccomend this game, theres plenty to do and whilst grindy at times, after you reach 61 and have decent enough gear to PvP properly then it can be super rewarding, this review only glazes over the top of the game as there is a lot to do and see, and for only £8 at the time of making this, its not even that much of an entry fee to even give it a go, so i Would rate this game the following:

With friends 9/10
Solo 7/10

Thanks for your time, and hope you give this game i love even a try!
