A nice range of characters with differing backgrounds, personalities and scenarios. I've enjoyed playing so far. although think the battle system is a bit clunky (to be expected). It's easy to sink a few hours into this story and it seems that hours pass without me realising it.

Choices matter, and there's an art to the intrigue that exists as you work your way throughout the various Acts. Like Dragon Age: Origins, which I view this game as a spiritual successor to, your choices determine future dialogue, avenues of enquiry and even whether you are able to spare a town from the sword.

As a Fatebinder working in service to the Archon of Justice, you are essentially a Solicitor, Barrister and Magisrate rolled into one. You have considerable authority and leeway to define the Law of the Realm based on your own whims but those decisions have consequences.

Like Dragon Age: Origins, your origin story plays a large part in how your story's foundation plays out and Tyranny requires you to think ahead and do your own research in-game to ensure you're making the right decisions and not putting yourself into a corner politically.

While as a Magistrate you are meant to be neutral, you will be called upon to justify your decisions at multiple points from multiple factions and not investigating every area will result in it being harder to retain their favour - or your head!

The negatives I can think of here are around the equipment menu - there needs to be a better way to sort and filter items and more categories for types of weapon would be appreciated. I also noticed a bug where randomly when travelling I would lose all of my money which was only fixed upon reloading an earlier save.

All in all, a really enjoyable experience. The characters had depth to them and I definitely felt a connection with some of them.

Wartales strikes me as a similar yet different adventure a la Mount and Blade, with an interesting companion system, upkeep and a knowledge system that lets you unlock new skills or perks just by exploring and general every-day mercenary work.

The professions each have their own "mini-games", whether it's forging weapons and armour, catching fish, or lockpicking - you can literally get some hands on experience haha.

All in all, Wartales is an enjoyable game.

The game can be beaten fairly simply, there's no great surprises or mechanics to keep in mind and it's all about taking advantage of the enhanced spawn spot locations which give your units a 50% buff to health and strength.

It's a fun little time-sink though and it is fun to try out different strategies if you're ever bored. If it comes included in a bundle, then it'll be worth the bundle price. On it's own though? Only if on sale.

I've found it fun to play and it's a very pretty looking time sink. There's a nice scaling difficulty level that you can use at the start of your game and the map is nicely designed in a way that you can't encounter monsters too dangerous too quickly, which allows you to spend a little while exploring the areas in the immediate vicinity as you gradually expand outwards.

All in all, it's a fun game. It doesn't hold your hand - like it says on the store page - but some information on how building your own house etc wouldn't hurt. I'm not sure what exactly the Mayor does (other than talk in old English) and provide access to Jewellery crafting.

Lots of potential, but the help pages could be better and the controls could be less clunky. I've had a lot of fun playing over the last few hours and I'm looking forward to playing again later on.

The game looks quite nice, but as a caution - installing any mods, including the Unofficial Patch will disable achievements which strikes me as incredibly counter-productive since the game has no added content (which is nearly six years old at its oldest) by this point.

This game requires coordination and teamwork. It fosters comradeship and requires leadership.

Pilots also have to have a sense of direction and the common sense not to fly straight into the sodding sandstorm. Or crash into mountains/wrecked cities/obstacles.

I love this game. It's fun, thrilling and does wonders for teambuilding with my community. The other players are friendly, helpful and fun to talk to, although you do sometimes get that bad egg who is quickly put in their place by others.

I have happily pre-ordered Alliance, and I'm keen on seeing what comes next for Guns of Icarus and the Royal Alexandrian Fleet Air Service (AFAS).

I never realised doing the duel with Blank would be so damn hard with a keyboard. What is this feeling?

It's the feeling of a challenge. I will beat you and I will get my 10,000 Gil, and that tasty Moonstone from the Queen. I will become one with the Keyboard or put it through my screen in frustration.

11/10 would rage at the commands again.
