A relaxing and fun game to play with friends, sure the dinner rush can get a bit hectic and those drunkards who won't leave the table are annoying. But just beat them with a broom and you'll soon feel better.

In seriousness, me and my friends had a good chill time playing this. I know it's a small team, but if they make significant updates down the road bringing in more content, we are likely to play it again.

I've played all previous Dark Alliance games, I went in to this blind just off the name alone, and that was my fault. This has no remnants of the old games or any of the fun. Just a grindy hack and slash with a hollow story. If I wanted to grind I'd stick to Diablo.

**Edit:
So I realised I should add some addition: Whilst the characters and levels are incredibly well fleshed out visually, I feel not the same attention was placed to the mechanics and controls.

Controls can be finicky for certain things like having to step side to side in front of an object half a dozen times to pick it up, or climb a ladder. Movement feels floaty, animations are not well matched up, for example climbing a ladder your character goes through the movement animation but looks like they are just pasted over the ladder sliding up it.

For game play so far It seems like there are some issues with combat in terms of mechanics and bugs. Several times I've been one hit was one hit by a low level mob from on a CR1 level from full health, It seems like every other attack is some kind of knock down on larger monsters and it takes forever to get back up. I had a couple of instances where I get knocked down by one mob, take five seconds to get back up and immediately get knocked back down and the cycle repeated until I was dead.

Fantastic game, movement took a little getting used to, had to go slow until I was used to it otherwise I felt motion sick. Once I had acclimated however it was fantastic.

I know I'm late to the party with this review so I'll keep it simple. I'm only a little way in, but so far the story telling has been fantastic. Graphics are amazing, I've found myself occasionally just riding to look at the views. Now if I could have something like this in a VR title, I think I'd be living in the old west for a while.

So far I've had a lot of fun with this game, yes it needs some work, and It's not fast paced. It's awesome to relax with after a day at work.

If you want a fun exploration game (yes it has a small bit of grind to it) then I recommend it. It's fun just to explore and find what the system has generated. If they continue to add features and content then this game could potentially live a very long time.
