Solid & cute little game that is worth it's asking price.

Feels good to play and had a bit of a challenge to get every star but it was not punishing by any means and had plenty of check points along the way.

Usually, most 3D platformers I've played that don't allow you to control the camera angle are a flop but Suzy Cube is proof you can make a great game while taking the camera control away from the player, and sometimes even flipping that on its head and using it as a feature.

Absolute steal when on sale. My only complaint is that the boss battles are too similar, but I got passed this too because the rest of the levels are so diverse.

I really wanted to like this one. Was hoping for a chill fishing game that I could pick up and put down in a few hours... which this does try to be, and does pretty well early on.

Getting this game for free? Yea - worth the few hours of your time to mess around for a bit. But if the asking price is $5 - there are better things to spend that money on.

Island is nice with some unique fishing spots that make it a bit of a hunt to find all the fish w/o a guide. I liked how the "difficulty" progressed on the methods of fishing (net, rod, fly fishing) but fly fishing needed some work.

The cons for this though ultimately forced my hand to leave this one as a thumbs down. (which i rarely do)... The fact that you can't rotate the camera drove me crazy at first but was something i eventually learned to live with. For most players though, this seems to be a deal breaker. The "catch" animation is way too long, pausing the game for so long that I thought the game froze.. which you can also get used to or at least live with; but the thing that busted it for me was the controls not working... details below.

Ultimately though the game left me a little disappointed.

As for the controls - the game says to use the right trigger, but i figured out through trial and error that it was the left trigger that actually casts. And when i got to fly fishing, you have to alternate right and left triggers - according to the instructions anyway - but no combination of buttons on the controller would actually work in the fly fishing tutorial. But because it was still the tutorial, i couldn't pause or back out of the animation leaving me soft locked. When i rebooted the game, my entire save file was gone... yea no, all done and on to something else with a little more polish.

Short and sweet.

Dev has some skill with creating a balance on time vs reward for upgrades and the like as well as adding different components to the game as you go along to keep things interesting. Just when you think youve peaked, you get a whole new area, quests, skills, etc. Very well done. I got all the satisfaction of picking up a new game, learning the nuances, growing and getting powerful, and then finishing the game all within a little under an hour.

Sounds and visuals are great for what it is and definitely one of the better free games i've played on Steam.

Thanks for the fun evening Barribob! Very much enjoyed your game and looking forward to the next one!

Excellent addition to the mechanic simulator series. Devs are actively working on bugs, engage with their community, and the game is a unique spin on the genre by putting you in the mechanic's shoes, rather than the driver's seat.

I love Rally, and I loved the CMS 2018 and 2021 games - this is a solid blending of the two and will only get better with time.

Not nearly as tedious to "complete" as some of the other CMS games; using their achievements to explore different areas of the game rather than "turn 100k bolts"... Much appreciated there too

This little game scratched an itch that I've been craving for a while now. If you are looking for a game to hit you in the nostalgia or if you ever enjoyed games like "Motherload" you will like this one. A good game to chill out to and dig up goodies. Originally I came for some mellow mining but was surprised how well they tied the unique story to the progress of your mining as you get deeper and deeper.

Upgrades scale nicely making you feel a significant boost to your rig each time, and the New Game + was really well done in how you get additional upgrades and cool new abilities that were not available in the first playthrough. Upgrades in NG+ still allow for that “scaled” feeling for everything you buy despite bringing all the upgrades from the previous play through with you. Since the story had multiple endings, the NG+ was definitely worth experiencing and could also be rushed through more easily knowing how some of the mechanics and ore prices work. i.e. The game seemed a little slow to start until you realize just how much more valuable the ore is the further down you go. Digging up better ore, getting a better drill, THEN explore some of the upper levels much faster - this strategy makes it much easier to find collectables, complete the maze/vaults and get through NG+ in a fraction of the time

Solid game, took me about 10 hours to play through my first time casually, and another 2-3 to go through NG+ with a little more intention and to pick up the rest of the achievements. I also played on the deck w/o issue despite it being marked unknown for deck support. I think there are a few buttons/abilities that could be remapped but honestly it wasn't needed and played out of the box just fine.

Hats off on this one... This game is worth every penny and then some. Extremely enjoyable experience that is based on a unique concept, polished, no bugs, and strikes a balance of fun humor without being cheesy or childish. An absolute joy to play.

I played it on the deck and honestly this was a perfect game for it.. couldn't put it down. Main story you could probably do in 4-5 hours but with side quests, interesting characters, and a swath of mini games and more challenging puzzles and such - I spent closer to 8 before seeing the finale. About 9-10 hours to get all the achievements.

Lastly, kudos to the devs on the challenges. ~36 different challenge levels that range from combat, puzzles, mazes, races, and more. Its impressive how many different ways you can get a unique challenge or experience with a simple mechanic of swinging a sword in a circle. Thanks for the gem of a game!

I underestimated this little gem.. thoroughly enjoyed! Thanks for the great time in your game Simon!

I've played a few of these "survivor" games now and this one is probably the most satisfying I've played so far. Unique in that you don't need 1,000 hours to complete and the gameplay has a very different feel than others in the genre.
The dev clearly put a lot of love into this, is responsive to questions and feedback, and made a solid title that can be enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours.

The Ultimate comeback story for gaming... we have all heard it. Hello Games have created a masterpiece of a game and continue to pour their hearts and souls into this game.

Jumping back in after the "Worlds Part 1" update after being away for years.. NMS has always been on my radar to go back and play but never did till now. The amount of updates, additional content, VR support - all of it is amazing. Tried it out on my Occulus Quest 2 tonight and probably the best VR experience i have ever had. Major kudos to the devs for keeping this content free over the past 8+ years. Will be buying your new one on launch day :)

Surprisingly charming little game that walks a line between a parody on old school zelda-like games, but plays solid and doesnt take itself too seriously. It pokes fun at the genre in a great way without being grounded in lame jokes or cheese.

The game itself takes about 3-5 hours to explore an do a complete play through depending on how quick you are to figure out the puzzles. There are a surprising amount of different things you can do with basically 3 tools. Using them in different combinations to solve puzzles is pretty satisfying and (most) puzzles are logic rather than raw skill or speed based solutions. That said there are a few very challenging bonus dungeons that up the difficulty which are optional. You can speed run the game in about 15 min with optimal pathing but its not something you are going to do in your first play through or two.
On that note - I also liked that there are 4 different combinations that you can end the game with. This doesnt change the overall story but it does give you a different kind of boss fight at the end and different challenges/puzzles to solve throughout the play through depending on the tools you pick - which was a neat way to blend the paths together.
Overall highly recommend. Played seamlessly on the Steam Deck & looking forward to trying out the sequel.
