One of the best single-player experiences I've played in a while.

The game's story is simple with the goal to stop and evil mega corporation. The main cast of party members grows throughout the journey, physically in size and as individuals with certain characters going from kind of annoying during the first-half to redeemable heroes as the story progresses.

Gameplay is the big part of the game, everything moves to the beat and when you do as well with your combos it's extremely satisfying. The combo system is not as complex as DMC but don't be fooled there's still a level of complexity to juggle the current rhythm and keep your combo going.

Some of the missions are quite challenging, especially on very hard. (final mission in particular was insane) and even after completing the game there's still additional content available for the player to play through and levels to backtrack through.

The music is the real star of the show, with stream-free tracks available in Streamer Mode. I would recommend playing with streamer mode turned OFF as there's some amazing song bits with the licensed music in the game. The Prodigy segment later on through the game is one of my favourite gameplay moments in the longest while, but even then the streamer mode songs are really solid alternatives.

How's the PC port? Solid, iit has options for uncapped framerates, all the new appropriate AI upscaling technologies depending on your hardware (DLSS, FSR, etc) and the standard suite of graphics options you can change. Ultrawide has black bars with it. The game additionally runs solid on a Steam Deck as well.

Finished it once on Xbox gamepass on Very Hard, loved it so much i bought the steam version to support Tango and do a second playthrough. This game is a must play if your a rhythm game fan or a hack and slash fan.

As a side note there's a negative review saying that there's no audio latency options? Whoever wrote that review is high af because the option is present in the game under "Latency Check". There's additionally also a low latency options and additional lower latency features if you have a support NVIDIA card.

Anyway play the game, it's dope.

This game sucks.

Barely any visible effort has been put into bringing this game to PC. The game is straight port of the phone game. The game's UI is barely passable at times to outright terrible, some of the keys that you can map in the bare-bones option menu don't work in the actual game. There's spelling errors littered around the place (BPM spelt BMP), you can mash all the keys and still score perfects in-game, some judgement tiers are unused and are just present in the UI (you don't get any Greats, etc) and everything encompassing the game feels cheap.

Compared to the other rhythm games on Steam this is stuck right at the bottom of the toilet covered in faeces with how cobble together it is and the monetisation makes the game's offerings even worse with some of the worst monetisation I've seen in any rhythm game title. The monthly song pass locks away a majority of the songs away from the user and the songs are timed anyway if you buy them anyway forcing you to re-buy the songs after 7 or 30 days if you want to play it outside it's allotted time.

Other legacy rhythm games have had newer revisions with a lot more care put into them and feature a handful of the classic O2Jam songs, you can play some of these in DJMax, EZ2DJ, Pump It Up, etc; play those songs in those games instead.

Avoid this like the plague.

Disco Night best song in the game

In all seriousness, this game is a steal for £3. Even the DLC is worth it (A season pass for LIFE!) and its still cheaper than other music games around like DJ Max Respect.

Play it and love it, it's good.

Enjoy this game a lot so far. One of my favourite namco fighters to date. I'll be writing my full review soon.

Performance issues aside due to the crusty NT Framework. The game itself is quite solid.

Koenji Review

In Tekken 7 you’re given the freedom to move around, space and position yourself to sidestep incoming attacks for example or make a move miss right in front of your face for a perfectly timed launch punishing move. The fluid movement system is the foundation that has been built upon since the first Tekken on the PS1.
