@grammie purdy You were probably right! I ended up resolving it by making myself a Dropship beacon and evacuating my character, but dropping back in onto my own world afterwards, everything worked afterwards!
This is a spectacular bit of detective work. You're far more tech savvy than most people who claim to be. I would be delighted to throw down with you sometime :)

you messaged you had issues with load-outs? I found my solution so perhaps it will work for you as well...seems this issue has been around for years yet no one has ever responded with solution...I am just an old lady and hardly tech savoy but - - - I noticed the insurance box was checked on load-out and I do not recall ever checking it but it would not allow me to uncheck it so I will blame their update but it was probably this old lady's fault...I went into the Icarus file on my PC and in the folder that says load-outs I found one "insured" line that said 'true' so I changed it to 'false'...saved and closed it...restarted my PC and everything was good once again...I do hope you are able to get your game fixed as well
