The atmosphere, soundtrack, and core game play loop are phenomenal. Upgrading the jalopy to help you get more and more difficult materials to eventually make your car the ultimate disaster-proof vehicle is quite enjoyable. For those points alone, I recommend this game completely. I didn't even know this going into the game because the advertising didn't really say much, but there is a actual story to this game. And it's.... not super good. The voice cast of the characters you grow to know are really skilled, and I found myself very impressed by their performances. However, the writing of the lines and the development of the story are the obvious weak point of this game by a long shot. I'm glad that the story was in the game, but it left me feeling more frustrated, especially with the ending. There's a lot of build up during the whole game to this one point and the crescendo of the story, only for it to be... kinda a underwhelming walk. My strong suggestion would be to get everything else but the final mission done before you go ahead and finish the game, because my motivation immediately fell off the moment the credits rolled in a really awkward and weirdly-paced manner.

TLDR; Game very fun, good vibe. Story is a unfortunate sidepiece.

If you're looking for a comfy vibe to spend some hours on, this game is a good pick. The raw personality in this game is peak. Narratively however, this game unfortunately falls short in its endings. Many plot threads I was really invested in dead end and the last time you see many characters is very unceremonious, and left me wanting a conclusion, or at the very least more. I give this a very warm 'should play'.

Words cannot do this experience justice, and you should read no more if this game looks interesting to you at all. Go in as blind as you can, don't look up anything, and enjoy the ride.

Easily one of the best indie games out there. If you aren't spoiled yet, don't look anywhere else and just play. You're in for far more than you think you are.

Mind blowing, innovative game play with a extremely high skill ceiling?
Any other movement shooters (Doom, Quake, UT, ect.)?

If you answered yes to at least two of these, I can nearly gaurantee you will at least mildly enjoy this game. Ultrakill is a game that lets your creativity, reaction time, and intuition go sicko mode and make you a hyper badass blood fueled machine. I honestly still can't believe this game exists.
TLDR; Badass sim. What else could you ask for?
