Early Access Review
I am unsure about this game at this stage. As much as I love DRG and as mich as I love Survival Games - while I have a lot of fun with this, I would not recommend it to others.

DRG-Survivor is not a bad game, but it is lackluster in comparison to e.g. Brotato. Which costs less, offers tons more variety and can give you hundreds of hours of fun. I know that. I have hundreds of hours of fun in Brotato.

But is DRG-Survivor bad? No. The mechanics are great, mining is fun, weapons are plenty although some are not really distinguishable from others, it is just... so much of the same all the time. 3 differernt bioms - same enemies, same mission structure.

This is Early Access - but it needs additional love to become the great game that clearly is possible here.
At the moment, I would rather recommend Brotato than DRG-Survivor, but I also recommend to keep an eye out on this game. There is a lot of potential to be unlocked here, hopefully the Devs are adding more variety and thus more long term fun.

If you buy this right now for the Multiplayer, be aware! There are tons of players out there with maxed StarCards meaning as a new account, you are in a severe disadvantage. And I do not mean lack of mapknowledge or movement, or which weapon is best, I mean, the stupid system Dice has choosen to measure progress in this game. Cards that let you boost your stats - good if everybody is on the same progression because it evens itself out. Catastrophic if new players only encounter enemies with maxed out characters - the newbies now fight a severe uphill battle that skill alone cannot overcome.

Take the Heavy Class... When at critical health, they can equip a card to get less damage. On the epic upgrade level, this bonus is 45%. So if you fight somebody with that card on max, before you kill him, you deal 45% less damage to him.
He could fire 66% longer than you (another epic Starcard) or gain points more easily.

None of these stats bonus require any skill, just grind that new players are lacking. This is a fundamental flaw in this games design and just... well sucks.

This is sad, because the game itself looks good, plays good - but MP does not feel good due to this. Playing more MP - there is no high skill ceiling, its just blasting people, getting killed by heros and respawn. Flanking does work, but sometimes just doesnt give you the kills you expect due to the mentioned cards above. In a Battlefield, you flank, its devastating. Here you flank and might not even be able to finish somebody off.

Yes, I am late to the party, but this design is just pure garbage and a leftover of the lootbox debacle. Be aware if you buy and start now!

Brotato für 5€? Was gibts da zu überlegen. Hänno hats auf seinem Kanal präsentiert, also ausprobiert.

First things first: Cannot recommend this game in its current state.

I played for 70 minutes and encountered numerous bugs, including dropping through the floor and the inability to attack flying enemies, the latter being a very frustrating experience. Flying monsters were immun to most attacks most of the times for me, they simply would not register as a target.

On the plus side, Wolcen does a lot of things right, e.g. the storytelling. In comparison to many other titles, within Wolcen it was easy to feel threatened by the world, see the despair of NPCs at every corner.

My verdict: Once the bugs are fixed, i will be back, but currently this is not for me since my time is limited and i will not spend it with a buggy and thus frustrating experience.
